DERT Meghalaya PM e-VIDYA Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Directorate of Educational Research and Training (DERT), Meghalaya is hiring a production and academic team for the five PM e-VIDYA DTH TV channels it runs from Shillong. These channels telecast curriculum-based lessons for school students, and the work is handled by DERT's Educational Technology (ET) Cell. The team covers planning, subject content, video shooting and editing, graphics and project accounts.

All posts are contractual and project-based, lasting 5 months or until the project ends. This suits you if you have a postgraduate or media degree and a few years of hands-on work in education content, video production, design or accounts.

Posts and Disciplines

• Junior Program Co-ordinator: for management postgraduates who have handled projects in education and the government sector.
• Academic Co-ordinator: split by subject — Science, Mathematics, Social Science, and Regional Language (one Khasi and one Garo post). You need a postgraduate degree in the subject and teaching experience.
• Video Editor: for media production, video editing, graphics or animation graduates who can run post-production for broadcast.
• Camera Operator: for videography, cinematography or film production graduates who know studio cameras, lights, mixers and audio gear.
• Accounting Data Analyst: for commerce, accounting, finance or economics postgraduates who can keep government project accounts using Tally and MS Excel.
• Graphic Designer: for fine arts, graphics, animation or media graduates who can build 2D/3D animation and VFX for educational TV.

Post-wise Duties

Junior Program Co-ordinator

You will plan and track the making of curriculum-based content for the channels, coordinate with CIET, NCERT, BISAG-N and state nodal officers, and prepare progress reports and telecast schedules.

Academic Co-ordinator

You will work with subject experts to write and review scripts, lesson plans and videos that match the state curriculum. Regional language co-ordinators also translate and adapt content into Khasi and Garo.

Video Editor

You will manage post-production — editing, subtitling, dubbing and formatting — and supervise studio and field shoots so content is broadcast-ready on time.

Camera Operator

You will run studio and field shoots, handling cameras, lighting, audio recording, teleprompters and multi-camera setups.

Accounting Data Analyst

You will keep the project's books of accounts, process vouchers and expenses, and prepare utilisation certificates, budget reports and audit support.

Graphic Designer

You will create graphics, templates, illustrations and animations for lessons, working with subject experts and the production team.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The engagement is for 5 months or until the project ends, and gives no right to a permanent or regular job at DERT.
• Working hours: You follow standard government office hours, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Confidentiality: You must keep all data, content and financial records you handle strictly confidential.
• Termination: DERT can end the engagement at any stage if performance is poor or project needs change.
• Government employees: If you already work in a government office, PSU or autonomous body, apply through proper channel or bring a No Objection Certificate to the interview.
• False information: Wrong or unsupported details lead to rejection at any stage.
