ZSS Khordha Medical Officer Recruitment 2026: Overview
Zilla Swasthya Samiti (ZSS), Khordha is recruiting Medical Officers for the National Health Mission (NHM) under Odisha's Department of Health and Family Welfare. The notice brings together the SNCU and DEIC medical posts in a contractual district health recruitment. Your appointment would remain linked to the scheme and its continuation.
Posts and Disciplines
- Medical Officer, SNCU: This is the neonatal care position in the Special Newborn Care Unit. The role belongs to the district's NHM healthcare services.
- Medical Officer, DEIC: This is the MBBS medical position in the District Early Intervention Centre. It sits within the same district health recruitment but has its own application entry.
Post-wise Duties
Medical Officer, SNCU
In a newborn care role, your typical work includes assessing newborns, monitoring their condition and coordinating care with nursing staff. You would keep clinical records and support timely referral when a child needs further care.
Medical Officer, DEIC
In an early intervention role, your typical work includes assessing children and helping coordinate further evaluation or treatment. You would work with the centre's team, keep case records and explain follow-up needs to families.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Contract period: The notified engagement runs until 31 March 2027, or until the project ends if that happens earlier. Renewal depends on satisfactory performance and the scheme's continuation.
- Nature of appointment: These positions are temporary and end with the scheme. You should consider the stated contract period when planning a move from your present employment.
- Current departmental staff: If you already work in the Health and Family Welfare Department, you must apply through the proper channel. The notice keeps this requirement separate from attending the walk-in.
- Previous disengagement: People removed from the society on administrative grounds, including poor performance, misconduct or criminal activity, cannot apply under this notice.
- Panel validity: The panel lasts for one year. It may also be used for similar positions in other NHM programmes, so its scope extends beyond the immediate advertised placement.
- Changes to recruitment: The advertised positions are provisional and may change with actual requirements. The authority can cancel applications or positions at any stage.
- Accuracy and conduct: Attempts to influence recruitment lead to disqualification. Hiding material facts or providing false records can result in rejection or termination after engagement.
