Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital (VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital), New Delhi, has released an advertisement dated 03 June 2026 for Senior Resident posts in VMMC, Safdarjung Hospital, and its satellite centre RHTC Najafgarh. The appointment is for 89 days, extendable by another 89 days based on satisfactory service or until the regular post is filled, whichever is earlier. There is no written exam; selection is through walk-in interview with a 100-mark interview assessment.

Who Can Apply?

For Most Medical Specialties

• Qualification: You need MBBS with PG Degree/Diploma/DNB in the relevant specialty recognized by NMC.
• Registration: You must have Delhi Medical Council registration or proof that you have applied for registration.

For Dental Surgery (Endodontics)

• Qualification: You need MDS in Endodontics recognized by DCI.
• Registration: You must have Delhi Dental Council registration or acknowledgement of applied registration.

For Super-specialty Linked Departments

• Qualification: Departments such as Endocrinology, Cardiology, Urology, Renal Transplant, Reproductive Medicine, and similar specialties require the relevant PG/specialty qualification mentioned in the notice.
• Extra Preference: Reproductive Medicine includes preference for fellowship in Assisted Reproductive Technology where applicable.

Age Limit

• General/EWS maximum age: 45 years
• OBC maximum age: 48 years
• SC/ST maximum age: 50 years
• PwBD: Upper age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India rules.
• Age reference date: Date of walk-in interview for the concerned department.

Salary

• Selected Senior Residents will get Rs. 67,700 in Pay Level-11 of the 7th CPC pay matrix.
• The pay is linked to pre-revised PB-3 Rs. 15,600-39,100 + Grade Pay Rs. 6,600.
• You will also get other allowances as admissible under Government of India rules.

Application Fee

• Security deposit at joining: Selected candidates must submit a refundable security deposit of Rs. 65,000 at the time of joining.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection will be through walk-in interview. The interview assessment is for 100 marks.

1. Registration and Document Check: Report to Room No. 18, Academic Section, Ground Floor, College Building, with originals and self-attested copies.
2. Walk-in Interview: Attend on the date allotted for your department, between 09:00 AM and 10:30 AM reporting time.
3. Interview Marking: Marks are given by Head of Department, Internal Expert, External Expert, publications, presentations, and distinctions/awards.
4. Offer and Joining: Selected candidates must collect the offer from Academic Section and join within the stipulated time.
