Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre (VECC), under the Department of Atomic Energy, is hiring a Principal Project Associate for its GRID Computing Facility in Kolkata. This is a project-linked, full-time engagement focused on the computing infrastructure that supports scientific work at the centre. The position is tied to the GRID Computing Facility rather than VECC's permanent establishment. The appointment does not create a right to regular absorption in VECC or another Department of Atomic Energy unit.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: The initial engagement runs for two years and may be extended for up to two more years when the facility needs the role and your performance remains satisfactory.
• Performance review: VECC may shorten the engagement after evaluating your work, so continuation is not automatic.
• Project link: The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. Selection does not give you a claim to a permanent post.
• Confidentiality: You must give an oath of secrecy when you report for duty and follow the Official Secrets Act, 1923 while handling project information.
• Public communication: Material learned through the assignment cannot be used in publications, broadcasts, media contributions or outside advice without VECC's prior approval.
• Ending the contract: In the normal course, either side may end the engagement with one month's notice. VECC also reserves the right to cancel the appointment.
• Interview travel: VECC will not pay TA or DA for attending the offline interview in Kolkata.
• Legal jurisdiction: Any dispute connected with the notice is subject to Kolkata jurisdiction.
