University of Madras Senior Project Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The University of Madras (UNOM) has released a notification for 1 Senior Project Assistant position under an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) funded project titled "Understanding the interplay between NUAK/MARK isoforms mediated metabolic reprogramming and nitric oxide-induced DAXX/JNK signaling in oral and colon cancer for its therapeutic evaluation". The project is being run by Dr. M. Ravi, Assistant Professor and Principal Investigator, in the Department of Biochemistry. The fellowship runs for two years (initially one year, renewable each year based on performance) and the post is co-terminus with the project.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have an M.Sc. in Biochemistry or Biological Sciences with a consistently good academic record and a minimum of 60% marks (or equivalent CGPA) in the Master's degree.
• Desirable: Hands-on experience in cell culture and molecular biology techniques. Experience in cell signaling and cancer biology will be preferred.
• Bonus: Candidates willing to register for a Ph.D. program in the Department of Biochemistry, UNOM will be preferred.

Salary

• Fellowship: Rs. 30,600 per month (fixed, as per ICMR guidelines)
• Tenure: 2 years (initially 1 year, renewable each year based on satisfactory performance)
• Appointment is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project
