The University of Madras (UNOM), Chennai has released a notification for 1 Research Assistant position under an Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) Minor Research Project (2025-26) titled "Assessing the Effectiveness of AB-PMJAY in Slum and Non-Slum Areas: A Study of Healthcare Utilization and Financial Protection in Chennai and Coimbatore Cities". The project is hosted by the Department of Politics and Public Administration. This is a fixed-tenure project post for 11 months, ideal for postgraduates from social science backgrounds who want hands-on research exposure.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must hold a Postgraduate (PG) degree in any Social Science discipline with a minimum of 55% marks.
• Preferred: Candidates with NET / M.Phil. / Ph.D. will be given preference.

Salary

• Consolidated pay: Rs. 37,000 per month
• Tenure of the post: 11 months (co-terminus with the project)

• Tabulate, clean, and analyse the data using statistical tools
• Prepare draft chapters, working papers, and progress reports for the project
• Review existing literature on health insurance and financial protection schemes
• Coordinate with field investigators and respondents during data collection
