Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research (SVNIRTAR) is an autonomous body under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. Located at Olatpur, Cuttack, Odisha, it is India's premier institute for rehabilitation training and research with a 200-bed hospital. SVNIRTAR is now hiring for 4 regular posts and 9 consultant posts at its main campus and sub-centres in Ranchi and Balangir.

Who Can Apply?

Regular Posts

• General Duty Medical Officer: MBBS Degree (essential). Desirable: MD in PMR or 2-year Diploma in PMR after MD Medicine (MCI recognized), or Diplomate in PMR from National Board, or MS (Orthopaedics)
• Lecturer Prosthetics & Orthotics: Post-Graduate Degree in Prosthetics & Orthotics with 55% marks from a recognized university. Must have valid RCI registration. 2 years of teaching/research experience required. Recruitment by Deputation or Direct
• Demonstrator (Physiotherapy): Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy with 55% marks. Valid council registration. 3 years of experience from a recognized institute. Desirable: Post-Graduate Degree in Physiotherapy
• Typist/Clerk (Hindi/English): 12th Class or equivalent. Typing speed of 30 WPM in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on manual typewriter, or 35 WPM in English or 30 WPM in Hindi on computer

Consultant Posts — CRCSRE

• Lecturer (Occupational Therapy): Master's in Occupational Therapy (full-time) with 3 years of teaching/research experience in rehabilitation. Desirable: RCI recognized qualifications
• Administrative Officer: Post-Graduate Degree/MBA with 5 years of administrative experience in government or reputed organization
• Clinical Assistant (Speech Therapist): B.Sc. (Speech & Hearing) or equivalent with 2 years of experience and RCI registration
• Assistant: Graduate with computer knowledge and 2 years of administrative experience

Consultant Posts — CDEICs

• Physiotherapist: Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy with 2 years of work experience
• Audiologist & Speech Language Pathologist (ASLP): Bachelor's in Audiology, Speech & Language Pathology (BASLP) with 2 years of experience and RCI registration as professional

Age Limit

• GDMO: Below 35 years (relaxable as per Govt. of India rules)
• Lecturer Prosthetics & Orthotics: 40 years for direct recruitment; max 56 years for deputation
• Demonstrator (Physiotherapy): 35 years
• Typist/Clerk: 27 years
• All Consultant Posts: Max 56 years

Salary

Regular Posts

• GDMO: Pay Matrix Level-10 — Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month
• Lecturer Prosthetics & Orthotics: Pay Matrix Level-10 — Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month
• Demonstrator (Physiotherapy): Pay Matrix Level-6 — Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month
• Typist/Clerk: Pay Matrix Level-2 — Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month
• Other benefits: LTC, Medical Reimbursement, and allowances as per Govt. of India rules

Consultant Posts

• Lecturer (Occupational Therapy): Rs. 60,000 per month (consolidated)
• Administrative Officer: Rs. 50,000 per month (consolidated)
• Clinical Assistant (Speech Therapist): Rs. 50,000 per month (consolidated)
• Assistant: Rs. 45,000 per month (consolidated)
• Physiotherapist (CDEIC): Rs. 35,000 per month (consolidated)
• ASLP (CDEIC): Rs. 35,000 per month (consolidated). CDEIC staff get 5% annual increment on basic pay on successful completion of each year

Application Fee

• Regular Posts: Rs. 1,000 for General/OBC/EWS; Rs. 500 for SC/ST candidates
• Consultant Posts: Rs. 500 for General/OBC/EWS; Rs. 250 for SC/ST candidates
• PwD candidates: No fee (exempted from application fees)
• Payment mode: Online through the portal payment gateway
• Transaction/processing fees, if any, are borne by the candidate

Selection Process

For Regular Group B and C Posts (where desirable qualification & experience both required)

1. Written Test (Objective/MCQ): Carries 80% weightage of total marks
2. Desirable Qualification: Carries 10% weightage
3. Desirable Experience: Carries 10% weightage

If no desirable qualification or experience is required, 100% weightage goes to Written Test/Skill Test. If only one of them is required, 90% for Written Test and 10% for the qualification or experience.

For Consultant Posts

1. Personal Interview by an appropriate committee
2. If more than 20 applications are received for a post, a screening Written Examination followed by Personal Interview will be conducted
3. Skill Test for technical posts (before personal interview)

Shortlisted candidates for interview: minimum ratio of 1:5 per vacancy.

• Handle patient care, diagnosis, and treatment for persons with disabilities at the rehabilitation centre
• Assist in conducting rehabilitation therapies including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy
• Prepare and maintain patient records, case files, and medical reports accurately
• Work with the multi-disciplinary rehabilitation team to develop patient treatment plans
• Manage administrative tasks including correspondence, file management, and data entry
• Follow all institute protocols, government rules, and standard operating procedures
• Assist in training programs, workshops, and research activities conducted by the institute
