Who Can Apply?

For Lower Division Clerk (717 posts)

• Qualification: Higher Secondary (12th pass) with basic computer knowledge (CCC/DOEACC or equivalent)

Most posts require basic computer knowledge as prescribed under Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967. Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both is needed for most positions.

Age Limit

• Age limits vary by post. For most posts, the upper age limit ranges from 35 to 45 years.
• For entry-level posts like Marshal, Driver, and Zoo Sevak, the minimum age is 18 years.
• Age is calculated as on 15 April 2026 (the last date of application).
• Age Relaxation: Available for reserved category candidates (SC, ST, SEBC, PwBD) as per Gujarat Government rules.
• The maximum age limit does not apply to existing SMC employees.

Salary

• Salary varies by post and pay level. Entry-level posts like LDC, Driver and Marshal offer salaries as per the applicable Gujarat Government pay structure.

Selection Process
