NIT Warangal JRF Recruitment 2026

NIT Warangal is hiring 1 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Chemical Engineering. NIT Warangal Junior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

National Institute of Technology Warangal has released this JRF notification for an ANRF-IRG funded research project in Chemical Engineering. The project is titled Mechanistic insights of CO2 Conversion into Methane over Engineered Perovskite-based catalysts under mild conditions. This is a temporary research position for up to three years, or until the project closes, with yearly performance review.

Who Can Apply?

For PG Degree Candidates

• Qualification: You need an M.E., M.Tech, M.Sc or M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Petrochemical, Materials, Metallurgical, Chemistry, Energy Engineering or another specialization relevant to heterogeneous catalysis.
• Marks: GEN, GEN-EWS and OBC-NCL candidates need at least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA at both UG and PG levels.
• Relaxed Marks: SC, ST and PwD candidates need at least 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA.

For B.E. or B.Tech Candidates

• Qualification: You can also apply with a B.E. or B.Tech in Chemical Engineering, Petrochemical, Energy Engineering, Materials or another area relevant to heterogeneous catalysis.
• Marks: GEN, GEN-EWS and OBC-NCL candidates need at least 65% marks or 7.0 CGPA.
• Relaxed Marks: SC, ST and PwD candidates need at least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA.
• Preference: Candidates with GATE qualification will get preference.

Desired Skills

• Lab Work: You should be comfortable with catalyst development, characterization techniques and laboratory best practices.
• Data Work: Familiarity with computational tools for data analysis, modelling and interpretation will help.

Age Limit

• GEN and GEN-EWS candidates can apply up to 28 years.
• OBC-NCL candidates can apply up to 31 years.
• SC, ST, PwD and female candidates can apply up to 33 years.

Salary

• First two years: Rs. 37,000 per month.
• Third year: Rs. 42,000 per month.
• HRA: House Rent Allowance will be paid as per NIT Warangal rules.
• Other Benefit: The selected candidate may register for a Ph.D. at NIT Warangal as per institute rules, after applying when Ph.D. admission opens.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection for this JRF post is based on shortlisting and interview.
