NIT Warangal JRF Biotechnology Recruitment 2026: Overview
National Institute of Technology Warangal (NIT Warangal) is hiring Junior Research Fellows in its Department of Biotechnology for a Ministry of Mines project. The project studies nickel recovery from mine tailings and suspended dust in and around mines. This is a project-based research engagement at the institute in Telangana, bringing laboratory research and field visits into the same assignment.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Project tenure: The engagement lasts for two years or until the project closes, whichever happens first. The position is temporary and tied to the research project.
- Early performance review: Your research performance will be reviewed after three months. Keep this review in mind when considering the project commitment described in the notice.
- Doctoral study: If selected, you may register for a PhD at NIT Warangal under its rules. You still need to apply when a PhD admission notice opens; appointment to the project does not itself complete that separate process.
- Campus facilities: Hostel and mess facilities may be available to the selected researcher. Access depends on availability, so the notice does not promise accommodation.

- Write research articles based on the project work.
- Prepare research progress reports.

Preferred Qualification
Preference for GATE/CSIR-UGC/DBT/ICMR NET qualification. Prior knowledge and practical experience in heavy metal analysis and extraction, microbial growth techniques and artificial intelligence are desirable.
