NIT Durgapur Project Associate-I Recruitment 2026: Overview
National Institute of Technology Durgapur (NIT Durgapur) is hiring a Project Associate-I for its Department of Electrical Engineering in Durgapur, West Bengal. The contractual role supports Grid Readiness for Electrical Vehicle (EV): Enablers and Technological developments (GREET), a collaborative research project led by IIT Kanpur and sponsored by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF).
The project looks at what happens to electricity distribution grids when electric vehicle charging grows at a large scale. Its scope connects charging infrastructure with grid operation, power quality and protection, so your work sits within a wider effort to make EV use more reliable.
GREET brings together transport patterns, grid limits and climate variability when studying charging and battery-swapping infrastructure. Its planned outputs include software, packages and mobile applications that support coordinated planning and smoother grid operation.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Project tenure: The engagement can run only up to 10 June 2028. This is a project appointment with a fixed outer limit.
- Renewal: Your performance will be reviewed every six months. Continuation depends on a satisfactory review, and the principal investigator can end the appointment if your performance is unsatisfactory.
- Regular employment: Taking up this role gives you no claim to a regular appointment at NIT Durgapur.
- Joining: If selected, you are expected to join immediately after recruitment. Keep this expectation in mind when considering your availability.
- Travel support: The institute will not pay travel or daily allowances for attending the interview.
- Conduct: Canvassing can lead to disqualification. Other engagement conditions follow NIT Durgapur rules.
