NIAB Project Technical Support III Recruitment 2026: Overview

BRIC-National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (BRIC-NIAB) is hiring a Project Technical Support-III researcher for a virology project at its Hyderabad institute on Extended Q City Road near Gowlidoddi in Gachibowli, opposite Journalist Colony at Survey No. 37, under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology. Funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and led by Dr. Madhuri Subbiah, the project studies the V protein and its complexes from Nipah virus and Newcastle disease virus. The study uses X-ray crystal structure determination to investigate these proteins, alongside structure-guided screening and validation of potential drugs that target V protein. Your appointment would support this specific research project, with the engagement tied to the project and its continuation.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Initial tenure: The appointment runs for one year. You should assess it as a project engagement with a defined initial period when considering the opportunity.
  • Extension: NIAB indicates that the appointment may be extended based on performance. An extension is a possibility, not a commitment in the advertisement, so continued work depends on the stated conditions being met.
  • Project-linked appointment: The engagement is co-terminus with the project. This connects the position to the duration of the funded study, including when the institute considers any continuation beyond the initial term.
  • Research setting: The post belongs to the study of V protein from the named viruses and its protein complexes. Keep that project focus in mind when considering the kind of laboratory research this engagement supports.
  • Official communication: NIAB says it will contact shortlisted applicants through email. Keep the email address you provide accessible so you can receive the institute’s communication about your application.
  • Interim enquiries: The notice says NIAB will not take interim enquiries about the recruitment. You should rely on the institute’s formal communication for the progress of your application.

Application Submission Notes

Online submission is the route specified by NIAB, and the notice names niab.res.in as the starting website. The advertisement-specific page for 23/2026 has a separate application link, helping you distinguish this project from other NIAB research advertisements with similar post names.

No hard copy is needed after you complete the online form. NIAB advises you to apply with enough time to handle technical problems before the portal closes, so leave room to complete the online submission without relying on last-minute access.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with experiments on viral V proteins and their complexes.
  • Support molecular cloning work for the research project.
  • Prepare recombinant proteins through expression and purification work.
  • Handle cell cultures following laboratory procedures.
  • Record experimental methods, observations and results clearly.
  • Help the project team organise data for protein-structure and drug-screening studies.
