The District Court of Nayagarh (Odisha) is hiring for 14 Group C posts — Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist, Stenographer Grade-III and Salaried Amin. Nayagarh District Court Recruitment 2026 - 14 Posts
The Office of the District Judge, Nayagarh has released Advertisement No. 01 of 2026 dated 19 May 2026 to fill 14 vacant Group C posts in the Judgeship of Nayagarh. These are regular (permanent) posts under the Odisha District and Civil Courts' Judicial Staff Services Rules, 2008. Knowledge of Odia language is mandatory for all posts — you must have passed an Odia test equal to the Middle English (M.E.) standard. Freshers can apply, and there is no written application fee.

Who Can Apply?
For Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist and Stenographer Grade-III
- You must be an Indian citizen.
- You must have passed at least the +3 (graduation) examination from a recognised university, or an equivalent qualification.
- You must have a Diploma in Computer Application (DCA) from a recognised institute.
- You must be able to speak, read and write Odia and have passed an Odia test of the M.E. standard.
- For Stenographer Grade-III only: you need a minimum speed of 80 words per minute in shorthand and 40 words per minute in typewriting on a computer.
For Salaried Amin
- You must be an Indian citizen.
- You must have passed the Matriculation (10th) examination or equivalent from a recognised Board.
- You must have completed Revenue Inspector Training from a recognised institute.
- You must also meet the Odia language and good-character conditions listed above.
Age Limit
- You should be over 18 years and below 42 years of age as on 18 June 2026 (the last date to apply).
- Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxed for women and reserved categories (SC/ST/SEBC) as per the rules in force.
Salary
- Stenographer Grade-III: Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month (Level-7 of the ORSP Pay Matrix)
- Salaried Amin: Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100 per month (Level-5 of the ORSP Pay Matrix)
- Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist: Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month (Level-4 of the ORSP Pay Matrix)
- You will also get DA and other allowances as per Odisha Government rules.

Selection Process
Selection is done through a written exam, a practical computer test and a viva-voce. The stages differ slightly by post:
- Written Examination: For Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist — English (100 marks), Arithmetic (100 marks) and General Knowledge (100 marks). For Stenographer Grade-III — English (100 marks, qualifying). For Salaried Amin — General English, Computer, Odia Language, Arithmetic and General Knowledge.
- Shorthand & Typewriting Test (Stenographer Grade-III only): 50 marks. A 400-word English passage is dictated in 5 minutes and reproduced as type script in 10 minutes.
- Computer Science Test (Practical): Tests your skill in formatting, tables, printing, saving, file transfer, browsing, email and accounting software.
- Viva-Voce Test: 35 marks for Stenographer Grade-III and 45 marks for Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist, to check your alertness and overall suitability.

Responsibilities
- Handle copying, typing and file work for the district court as per the assigned post
- Prepare and maintain case records, registers and official documents
- Take dictation in shorthand and produce accurate transcripts (Stenographer)
- Carry out land measurement and survey duties for revenue matters (Salaried Amin)
- Use court computer systems for data entry, document printing and record-keeping
- Assist judicial officers and senior staff with day-to-day administrative work
- Follow court rules, maintain confidentiality and good conduct at all times
