Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA) is hiring a Senior Consultant in Early Childhood Development (ECD) for the State Health Systems Resource Center (SHSRC). The contractual role supports the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) project implemented under the Meghalaya State Health Society. You will be based in Shillong, with frequent visits to project sites forming part of the assignment.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: The initial engagement lasts one year. Renewal depends on satisfactory performance and whether the project continues, so an extension is conditional.
• Engagement agreement: If selected, you will receive detailed terms for the assignment and must sign a deed agreement with SCEP, as named in the notification. Read those terms before accepting the role because they govern your engagement.
• Travel commitment: Shillong is your base, but you should expect frequent travel to project sites. Consider this requirement when deciding whether the assignment fits your availability and plans.
• Shortlisting discretion: Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee a call from MBDA. The authority may limit the shortlist using higher qualifications, greater experience or other conditions it considers suitable.
• Communication: MBDA will contact shortlisted applicants through SMS or email and display the shortlist on its website and office notice board. Applicants who are not shortlisted will not receive individual correspondence.
• Travel costs: You must cover your travel and daily expenses for attending recruitment assessments. MBDA will not pay TA/DA, so keep that cost in mind if you live outside Shillong.
• Recruitment changes: The advertised staffing requirement is tentative. MBDA may change it, extend the application window, leave positions unfilled or cancel the recruitment at any stage without giving a reason.
• Alternative appointment: If suitable applicants are unavailable, MBDA may consider a lower position and relax the stated qualification or experience requirements for someone with relevant expertise. This is an option available to the authority, not an assurance to applicants.
• Conduct: Do not seek outside influence over the recruitment. The notice states that canvassing can lead to disqualification, regardless of your professional background.
