The Directorate of Social Welfare, Government of Manipur is hiring 2877 Anganwadi Workers and Helpers for Anganwadi Centres across Manipur. Manipur Anganwadi Worker & Helper Recruitment 2026 - 2877 Posts

The Directorate of Social Welfare, Government of Manipur has issued Notification No. 10/75/ICDS/2026-AW(R) dated 8 May 2026 for the recruitment of Anganwadi Workers and Anganwadi Helpers under Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0. This is one of the biggest Anganwadi drives in Manipur this year, with 777 Worker posts and 2100 Helper posts. Only female candidates from the local village or community (within 2 km of the Anganwadi centre) can apply. The selection includes a written exam and an interview.

Vacancy Breakdown

• Anganwadi Worker (AWW): 777 posts — honorarium Rs. 4,500 + Rs. 1,000 state top-up = Rs. 5,500 per month
• Anganwadi Helper (AWH): 2100 posts — honorarium Rs. 2,500 + Rs. 600 state top-up = Rs. 3,100 per month

The number of posts indicated is tentative and may increase or decrease at any stage as per administrative requirements.

Who Can Apply?

• Gender: Only female candidates can apply.
• Educational Qualification: You must have passed minimum 10+2 (Class 12) from a recognised board.
• Residence: You must be a lady from the local village or community. The local village or community means the area within 2 km of the Anganwadi centre.
• Residence Proof: Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, or any other valid Government residence proof (electricity bill, water bill, etc).
• If you are newly married (within 2 months), you can submit your husband's residence proof along with marriage proof, but must submit your own residence proof within 2 months of joining.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age: 35 years

Salary / Honorarium

• Anganwadi Worker: Rs. 4,500 per month (Government of India) + Rs. 1,000 per month (State Government top-up) = Rs. 5,500 per month
• Anganwadi Helper: Rs. 2,500 per month (Government of India) + Rs. 600 per month (State Government top-up) = Rs. 3,100 per month
• Performance-linked incentive: Rs. 500 per month for AWW and Rs. 250 per month for AWH, subject to eligibility
• 20 days annual leave, 180 days paid maternity absence, and other welfare benefits under PMJJBY, PMSBY, AB-PMJAY, PM-SYM schemes
• Engagement is honorary/part-time and does not confer regular government servant status.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Written Examination: 50 MCQs for 50 marks in 2 hours. No negative marking.
2. Interview: Conducted from 1 June 2026 to 10 June 2026. Venue will be notified later.

• Deliver Anganwadi services including nutrition support, early childhood care, and community mobilisation
• Register and track beneficiaries — children 0-6 years, pregnant women, lactating mothers, adolescent girls
• Conduct monthly weighing, growth monitoring, and data entry in the Poshan Tracker app
• Organise supplementary nutrition (morning snacks, hot cooked meals, take-home ration) for eligible beneficiaries
• Conduct home visits, counsel families on breastfeeding, immunisation, and child development
• Coordinate with ANM, ASHA, PHC staff for immunisation and health check-ups
• Maintain registers, records, and reports as required by the department
• Participate in Poshan Maah, Poshan Pakhwada, and other community awareness events
