Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial engagement: The appointment is for 44 days, or until a regular Senior Resident joins, whichever is earlier. The normal residency ceiling is 3 years, including earlier ad hoc or regular Senior Resident service at recognised institutions.
• Shortage arrangements: Where fresh applicants are unavailable, the hospital can consider doctors who have already completed their residency. Appointments from this separate pool last at most one year and cannot be renewed beyond that period.
• No-objection certificate: The hospital will not issue an NOC until you have completed at least 44 days of continuous service.
• Outside programmes: Permission or leave for conferences, seminars, workshops or fellowship programmes lasting more than three days will not be granted during residency.
• Joining: You must join within 10 days of the offer letter. The offer is cancelled automatically if you miss this period, and the hospital will not extend it.
• Registration after joining: Joining without DMC registration is provisional. You must produce the DMC certificate within one month to be taken on strength.
• Posting flexibility: In an emergency, you can be posted wherever patient care or public interest needs your service.
• Travel: The hospital will not pay TA/DA for attending the interview.
• Changes: The competent authority can amend or cancel the interview and correct errors under the applicable rules.

Application Submission Notes

• Walk-in venue: Conference Hall of the Medical Director, Lok Nayak Hospital, New Delhi. Interviews take place on the second and last Tuesday of each month at 10:30 AM; if that day is a holiday, the interview moves to the next working day.
• Application handover: Give your prescribed application to the E-I Branch within the scheduled time. The hospital will not accept late applications.
• Updates: Check the hospital website and the AMS (A) notice board during the first and third week of each month for the vacancy position. No separate call letter will be sent.
• Interview overflow: If applications are numerous, interviews may continue on the next working day. Stay in contact with the board before leaving; it will announce any continuation verbally at closing time.
