JSCPS JJB and CWC Members Recruitment 2026: Overview

Jharkhand State Child Protection Society (JSCPS), under the Department of Women, Child Development and Social Security, is seeking Social Worker Members, Chairpersons and Members for district child-protection bodies. The notice covers Juvenile Justice Boards (JJBs) and Child Welfare Committees (CWCs) across the listed districts of Jharkhand. These are honorary appointments, and you must be able to give the board or committee the time and attention its work needs.

Posts and Disciplines

  • JJB Social Worker Members: The district table lists positions in Dumka and Simdega, along with female-member positions in Lohardaga and Sahibganj. These appointments form the social-work side of the district Juvenile Justice Boards.
  • CWC Chairpersons: Chairperson roles are listed for Dumka, Giridih and Ramgarh. You would serve on the Child Welfare Committee for the district where you are appointed.
  • CWC Members: Member positions are listed for Lohardaga and Ramgarh, with female-member positions in Dumka and Jamtara. The notice distinguishes these entries, so check the district and role together when recording your preference.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Honorary term: Engagement is for three years. Your appointment takes effect when you join at district level, subject to a position being available in that district.
  • Panel validity: The recommended panel stays valid for one year from selection. A place on the panel must be read alongside the availability of a district vacancy.
  • Time commitment: You must not hold a full-time occupation that prevents you from giving proper attention to board or committee work. Consider how your present responsibilities would fit with the role before applying.
  • Institutional conflicts: Direct or indirect links with a Child Care Institution cannot continue during the engagement. If selected while associated with such an institution, you must withdraw and provide the prescribed confirmation when reporting.
  • Independence: You cannot hold an office in a political party during the term, and other conflicts of interest are also prohibited. The notice additionally rules out insolvency.
  • Applicable framework: Service follows the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and the Jharkhand rules issued in 2017. You must accept the engagement and termination conditions that apply under this framework.
  • Travel costs: No travel or daily allowance is paid for attending the interview. Make your own arrangements if you are called.
  • Accuracy and departmental decisions: Incorrect or concealed information can result in cancellation or termination. The department may correct an erroneous communication, change the recruitment scope or leave positions unfilled.

Application Submission Notes

District choice must match an available entry in Annexure A. You can apply to several districts, but each district needs a separate application.

You may seek more than one available role within a district and must state your order of preference. The form also asks for the distance between your current residence and the district headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the work and sittings of the assigned board or committee.
  • Review child-related matters with attention to children's rights and welfare.
  • Bring relevant social-work or professional knowledge to case discussions.
  • Support decisions that protect the growth and development of children.
  • Follow the applicable juvenile justice framework in board or committee work.
  • Attend departmental training linked to the role's functions.
