About This Job

JKPSC has released the Mains notification for 80 posts across J&K Administrative Service, J&K Police (G) Service, and J&K Accounts (G) Service. Graduates can apply online by 9 March 2026. Age limit is 21 to 32 years (as on 1 January 2025).

Earn up to Rs. 1,51,100 per month — the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has opened applications for the Combined Competitive (Main) Examination 2025, covering some of the most prestigious civil service posts in the Union Territory. If you qualified the J&K CCE Preliminary Examination, this is the stage where your merit is decided.

About This Recruitment

If you've always wanted to work as a senior civil servant in J&K — managing districts, handling law enforcement at a gazetted level, or overseeing public accounts — this is your path. These three services sit at the heart of Union Territory administration, and selection through JKPSC is the most sought-after route into them.

The Junior Scale of J&K Administrative Service puts you in a position to manage public policy, welfare programmes, and district-level governance. The J&K Police (Gazetted) Service places you in a gazetted police role with command responsibilities. The J&K Accounts (Gazetted) Service covers financial management across government departments — a career built on accountability and public finance.

This is the Mains stage of the examination. To be eligible, you must have qualified the J&K Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination 2025 (result notified on 22 January 2026 vide Notification PSC/Exam/S/2026/06). If you cleared the prelims, this is the stage that counts toward your final selection.

Selection Process

The full selection spans three stages — a Preliminary Exam (already completed), a Mains Written Exam, and a Personality Test (Interview). Your performance in the Mains, which covers 7 scored papers worth 1,750 marks, along with the Personality Test worth 250 marks, forms the final merit of 2,000 marks. Candidates called for the Personality Test will not exceed 3 times the number of vacancies.

Preparation Tips for JKPSC CCE Mains Exam

  • Download the official syllabus from jkpsc.nic.in — the Mains follows SRO-103 of 2018 which lays out all topics in detail for each paper
  • Paper I is an Essay paper worth 250 marks — practice writing structured, well-argued essays on governance, social issues, and national affairs
  • Papers II to V are General Studies papers covering History, Geography, Polity, Economy, Ethics, and more — spread your preparation equally across all four
  • Papers VI and VII are your Optional Subject papers (250 marks each) — your optional subject choice can significantly impact your final score, so pick wisely based on your graduation background
  • The qualifying English paper (300 marks) does not count in merit but must be passed — do not ignore it entirely
  • The Mains is descriptive/conventional (not MCQ) — practice writing full answers within word limits, as time management in descriptive exams is critical
  • Read current affairs from at least the last 12 months, with focus on J&K-specific governance, national policy, and international relations for the GS papers
  • Review previous JKPSC Mains question papers available on the official website to understand the style and depth of questions expected
