JIPMER Technician Recruitment 2026 (BHISHM Cubes)

JIPMER Puducherry is hiring 1 Technician on a contract basis for the Operationalization and Maintenance of BHISHM Cubes project, funded by the Disaster Management Cell, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. If you have a B.Sc in Radiological Imaging Techniques or a B.Sc in Emergency Medical Technology with 2 years of relevant experience, you can apply by post. JIPMER Puducherry Technician Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, has released a contract recruitment notice (Advt. No. JIP/EMSD/BHISHM/HR25-26(1) dated 18 May 2026) for 1 Technician post under the BHISHM Cubes project. BHISHM (Bharat Health Initiative for Sahyog Hita and Maitri) Cubes are mobile medical units used for disaster response and field deployment. This is a postal application only — online submissions will not be accepted. The position is initially till September 2026, renewable based on funding.

Who Can Apply?

You must meet one of the two qualification routes:

Route 1 - Radiological Imaging

• Essential: B.Sc in Radiological Imaging Techniques from a recognised institute
• Experience: 2 years post-qualification experience as a Radiographer

Route 2 - Emergency Medical Technology

• Essential: B.Sc in Emergency Medical Technology from a recognised institute
• Experience: 2 years post-qualification experience as a Medical Technician

Desirable

• Experience in handling radiological equipment

Experience must be gained after acquiring the essential qualification. A valid email ID and mobile number are compulsory.

Salary

• Consolidated remuneration: Rs. 40,000 per month
• No other allowances or facilities will be given beyond the consolidated salary
• The salary may be revised from time to time at the discretion of the project authority

Selection Process

Selection will be done in three stages after shortlisting based on the application form, CV, and supporting documents:

1. Written Test — to assess subject knowledge
2. Skill Test — practical evaluation related to radiological and emergency medical work
3. Interview — final round; may be in person or via videoconferencing at the Nodal Officer's discretion

Only shortlisted candidates will be called. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The decision of the Nodal Officer is final.

1. Download and type the prescribed Application Format (from the JIPMER website at jipmer.edu.in) in block letters on A4 size paper.
2. Fill in personal details, educational qualifications (from SSLC/Matriculation onwards), previous employment, and a 500-word experience write-up.
3. Attach self-attested copies of: ID proof (Aadhaar/Voter ID/Passport/DL), age proof (10th certificate), all degrees/diplomas, and experience certificates.
4. Confirm willingness for fieldwork travel (Yes/No) in the form.

• Initial Engagement Duration: Up to September 2026 (renewable subject to scheme continuation)

• Assist in operating medical equipment such as X-ray machines, ECG machines, and other diagnostic devices, and handle their day-to-day maintenance
• Conduct monthly checks of all battery-operated and diagnostic equipment, including RFID-tagged devices
• Support laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures as per medical requirements
• Collect, label, and prepare biological samples for testing and analysis
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of specimens, reagents, and medical supplies
• Maintain accurate records of laboratory tests, diagnostic procedures, and equipment maintenance
• Handle data entry, documentation, and basic analysis related to patient care and diagnostics
• Support the deployment, operation, demobilisation, and maintenance of BHISHM Cubes as per institute SOPs
