IITH Research Associate-I Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) is recruiting a Research Associate-I for the Department of Physics under a DST-NQM project on quantum annealing and optimization. Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Initial tenure: The appointment begins as Research Associate-I for one year. Continuation is not automatic; the project allows a possible extension into Research Associate-II and Research Associate-III for two further years.
  • Project setting: You will work with the principal and joint investigators in the Department of Physics and contribute directly to the DST-NQM research objectives.
  • Research focus: The project expects simulator development as well as applications to logistics and scheduling, so your work may combine algorithm design, computational experiments, validation and interpretation.
  • Shortlisting: The institute will compare applications on merit and project fit. Meeting the baseline academic condition does not by itself guarantee an interview.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Preferred Qualification

Prior research experience in quantum optimization algorithms, driven dissipative quantum systems, or AI/ML.
