IIT Guwahati Project Engineer and Project Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 3 Posts

The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati), Research and Development Section, has released an online interview notification for 3 contractual posts under the project titled ISEA Project - Phase III at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The selection is purely interview-based with no written exam. The interview will be conducted online on 27 May 2026, and the expected joining date is 1 July 2026.

Who Can Apply?

For Assistant Project Engineer (2 posts):

• Qualification: B.Tech in CSE / ECE / IT or equivalent discipline
• Preference: Candidates with a background in Cyber Security will be given preference

For Project Assistant (1 post):

• Qualification: BCA / B.Sc-CS or equivalent discipline
• Desirable: Knowledge of office automation tools

Salary

• Assistant Project Engineer: Basic Pay Rs. 27,000 + HRA Rs. 5,400 = Rs. 32,400 per month
• Project Assistant: Basic Pay Rs. 16,000 + HRA Rs. 3,200 = Rs. 19,200 per month
• Duration of appointment: 8 months for both posts

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on:

1. Shortlisting: Based on qualification, experience and suitability for the post
2. Online Interview: Scheduled for 27 May 2026. Interview link will be shared only with shortlisted candidates by email
3. Final Selection: Based on your performance in the interview

Rejected candidates will not get any intimation. Contractual post candidates will not have any preferential claim for a regular appointment in the institute.
