The Department of Civil Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi has opened 1 Young Professional post under the project "Decision Support System (DSS) for Water Resource Management". This work is part of the Smart Laboratory on Clean Rivers (SLCR) under the Namami Gange Mission-II. There is no written exam — selection is based on your qualification and an interview. This is a great fit if you have a background in water resources, GIS, remote sensing or environmental modelling.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification (any one)

• Ph.D in Geoinformatics, Water Resource, Environment, Geography or an equivalent field, OR
• M.Tech in Geoinformatics, Water Resource or Environment, OR
• M.Sc in Geoinformatics, Geography, Environment or equivalent, OR
• MCA with at least 1 year of experience in a relevant field

Desirable Experience

• Experience in mathematical modelling of water resources, remote sensing, GIS or environmental engineering

Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.

Age Limit

• Upper age limit: 32 years
• Age relaxation is given to OBC, SC, ST, Women and physically challenged candidates as per government rules

Salary

• You will get a fixed Rs. 70,000 per month (consolidated)
• This is a consolidated amount, so no separate DA or HRA is added

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is done in these steps:

1. Shortlisting: The Project Investigator (PI) will set the benchmark and call only eligible candidates. The PI may hold a test and/or interview for the post.
2. Test and/or Interview: Only shortlisted candidates will be informed by email to attend.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The PI reserves the right not to fill the post if no suitable candidate is found.

• Assist the Project Investigator with research and documentation as needed
