IISER TVM is hiring 4 Graduate Apprentice Trainees for a one-year apprenticeship programme under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram (IISER TVM), an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has released Advt. No. IISERTVM/NAT/AT/2026/001 for 4 Graduate Apprentice Trainee positions for the year 2026–27. This is a one-year training engagement conducted through the NATS portal (nats.education.gov.in) under the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Rules 2019. Freshers who completed their degree in 2021 or later through regular mode are eligible to apply.

Who Can Apply?

For Electrician / Civil / Mechanic (2 posts):

• You need a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised State Board or University as per the required trade.

For Secretarial Assistance (2 posts):

• You need a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline — except in the field of Engineering.

Additional Eligibility Conditions:

• You must have completed your degree in 2021 or later.
• Your degree must be from a regular (full-time) mode — distance or correspondence is not eligible.
• You must be an Indian National.
• Candidates who have already completed or are currently undergoing an apprenticeship of one year or more anywhere are not eligible.

Age Limit

• UR (General): Up to 28 years
• OBC: Up to 31 years
• SC / ST: Up to 33 years
• Age is reckoned as on 01 April 2026.

Stipend

• All selected trainees will get a monthly stipend of Rs. 14,500.
• IISER TVM pays its share directly; the Government's share is credited to your bank account via the NATS portal (Direct Benefit Transfer).
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the selection process.

Application Fee

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Application Screening: All applications will be scrutinised for eligibility.
2. Document Verification and/or Written Test: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification and may also have to appear in a written test.
3. Interview: A selection panel will evaluate shortlisted candidates in an interview.
4. Merit List: Final selection is based strictly on academic merit and fulfillment of eligibility criteria.
