IISER Bhopal Project Assistant Geology Recruitment 2026: Overview
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal (IISER Bhopal) is hiring a Project Assistant in its Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences. The Ministry of Earth Sciences funds the project, which studies how deformation in fault zones affects slope stability and the onset of landslides. Responsibilities
- Collect structural and geological data for the project
- Process the structural and geological datasets
- Analyse the collected geological data
- Prepare thin sections for examination
- Conduct microstructural analyses
- Quantify strain in the studied material
- Prepare maps using ArcGIS
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
M.Sc. or M.Tech. in Geology/Earth Sciences from a recognised university or institute, with at least 60% overall aggregate or CGPA/CPI of 7.0 on a 10-point scale. B.Sc. must include Geology and any two of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry as minors.
Preferred Qualification
Fieldwork and data-processing knowledge in Structural Geology; experience using MATLAB/Python and ArcGIS.
Required Skills
Desirable: structural-geology field and data-processing skills, MATLAB/Python programming and ArcGIS.
