ICMR-National Institute of NCD Epidemiology (NINE), Bengaluru is hiring 3 Young Professionals (YP-I and YP-II) on a one-year contract basis. If you have a Graduate degree (for YP-I) or Master's degree (for YP-II) with at least 55% marks in the relevant field, you can appear for the walk-in interview on 10 June 2026 at ICMR-NINE, Bengaluru. The ICMR-National Institute of NCD Epidemiology (NINE), formerly known as ICMR-NCDIR, has issued advertisement ICMR/NINE/Recruitment/2025-26 dated 13 May 2026 for engagement of Young Professional-I and Young Professional-II posts on a purely time-bound contractual basis for one year. The three posts cover AI/ML, Public Policy & Evidence Translation, and Scientific Communication & Media — supporting NINE's research on non-communicable diseases and cancer surveillance.   • Desirable: Exposure to AI/ML techniques (ML algorithms, anomaly detection, imputation, NLP, forecasting); working knowledge of Python/R, SQL, Power BI/Tableau

  • Desirable: Science/Health Communication specialists, Public Health graduates with strong communication, experience translating scientific research for public communication
  • Key Skills: Visual abstracts, infographics, Canva/Adobe Illustrator/PowerPoint, social media management for research, scientific writing/editing

Selection Process

Selection is through a single-stage walk-in process:

  1. Application Shortlisting: Based on qualifications, experience, and age as per the prescribed criteria
  2. Walk-in Interview / Personal Discussion: Conducted at ICMR-NINE, Bengaluru on the interview date
  3. Document Verification: Original documents verified on the day of walk-in

Responsibilities

  • Support data improvement initiatives including validation rules and audit systems (YP-I AI/ML)
  • Develop AI/ML solutions for anomaly detection, missing data imputation, and report automation (YP-I AI/ML)
  • Build and maintain data dashboards and monitoring tools with completeness and quality scoring (YP-I AI/ML)
  • Develop policy briefs, evidence summaries, and policy notes from NINE/NCRP research outputs (YP-II Policy)
  • Translate epidemiological and surveillance findings into policy-relevant communication for ministries and agencies (YP-II Policy)
  • Conduct rapid evidence synthesis and literature reviews on cancer epidemiology, environmental risk factors, and NCD prevention (YP-II Policy)
  • Develop communication products, research highlights, infographics, and visual abstracts from NINE/NCRP outputs (YP-II Communication)
  • Manage NINE digital communication through website, newsletters, social media, short videos, and webinars (YP-II Communication)
