Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Limited is hiring 1 Director (Systems, Electrical & Rolling Stock) for a senior leadership role in metro rail systems. GMRC Director (Systems) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

GMRC is the 50:50 special purpose vehicle of the Government of India and Government of Gujarat for rail-based mass rapid transit projects in Gujarat. This notification is for a top management post that will oversee power supply, traction, E&M systems, signaling, telecommunication, and rolling stock across project and O&M functions. Who Can Apply?

• Essential qualification: bachelor's degree in Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics & Communication from a recognised university or institute
• Total experience needed: a proven track record of 25 years of Group A or Executive Service in Railways or equivalent organisations
• Relevant domain experience: at least 5 years out of those 25 years in metro rail, rolling stock, railway electrification, traction, E&M, or signaling and telecommunications
• Eligible backgrounds: Railways, Railway PSUs, Metro Rail Corporations, PSUs, Metro Rail or MRTS private organisations
• Private sector consideration: candidates who have worked in equivalent senior positions in private metro rail companies in India or abroad may also be considered
• Expected expertise: planning, tender document preparation, bidding, execution, commissioning, safety, and coordination with related disciplines such as track, signaling, traction, telecom, and rolling stock

Age Limit

The notification gives a defined age band for the post and also leaves room for limited relaxation in exceptional cases. Your age fit matters because the appointment term is linked with the superannuation ceiling.

• Superannuation age mentioned by GMRC: 62 years

Salary

This is one of the higher public-sector engineering leadership salary bands you will see in a state metro recruitment notice. The contract pay is fixed in the IDA pattern, while deputation candidates follow deputation terms.

Selection Process

The notification does not prescribe a written test. This is a senior appointment, so the main filter is eligibility review followed by interview and verification.

3. Document verification - original qualification and experience documents must be produced when needed
