Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Limited is hiring 5 senior Civil Engineering officers on Contract / Deputation / Post-superannuation basis for the Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Surat Metro projects. GMRC Civil Multi-Post Recruitment 2026 - 5 Posts

Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Limited, a 50:50 Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) jointly owned by the Government of India and Government of Gujarat, is responsible for the Ahmedabad Metro Phase-I and Phase-II and Surat Phase-I projects and their operations & maintenance. GMRC has issued Notification No. GMRCL/HR/RECT/Civil/May-2026/17 dated 16 May 2026 inviting applications for 5 senior Civil posts across General Manager, Joint GM, Sr. DGM and DGM levels. The engagement is for a minimum period of 3 years, extendable up to 5 years based on performance. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in Gujarat State for at least 3 years and are conversant with the Gujarati language.

Who Can Apply?

For General Manager (Civil - Maintenance)

• Qualification: B.E/B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a Govt. recognised University/Institute.
• Relevant Experience: Minimum 10 years in Civil works of metro/civil maintenance of metro, railways, flyover, RUBs, bridges or multi-storied buildings.
• Total Experience: 17 years (Govt./PSU) or 20 years (private sector) of post-qualification executive experience.

For Joint GM / Sr. DGM / DGM (Civil - Maintenance and Civil - QA/QC)

• Qualification: B.E/B.Tech in Civil Engineering. For QA/QC, additional Diploma in Quality is an added advantage.
• Joint GM: 14 years (Govt./PSU) or 16 years (private) post-qualification experience with 10 years relevant work.
• Sr. DGM: 11 years (Govt./PSU) or 15 years (private) experience with 8 years relevant work.
• DGM: 8 years (Govt./PSU) or 10 years (private) experience with 6 years relevant work.

For Sr. DGM / DGM (Civil - Underground/Tunnel/Elevated)

• Qualification: B.E/B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
• Relevant Experience: Experience in underground structures (stations and tunnel work using TBM, construction supervision, tunnel design) OR construction of Viaducts, Bridges, Multi-Storied Buildings.
• Sr. DGM: 11 years (Govt./PSU) or 15 years (private) post-qualification experience.
• DGM: 8 years (Govt./PSU) or 10 years (private) post-qualification experience.

For DGM (Civil - Safety)

• Qualification: Graduate in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering plus minimum 1-year full-time Diploma in Industrial Safety from a Govt. recognised institution.
• Experience: 8 years (Govt./PSU) or 10 years (private) post-qualification executive experience with 6 years in safety of civil works of major infrastructure projects. Preference for metro/railways/flyover/bridges/high-rise building experience.

Age Limit

• General Manager: 57 years (contract), 58 years (deputation), 62 years (post-superannuation)
• Joint General Manager: 50 years (contract), 58 years (deputation), 62 years (post-superannuation)
• Sr. Deputy General Manager: 48 years (contract), 58 years (deputation), 62 years (post-superannuation)
• Deputy General Manager: 45 years (contract), 58 years (deputation), 62 years (post-superannuation)
• Age and experience will be reckoned as on 16 May 2026.
• Age limit will not be applicable to existing GMRCL employees, but age relaxation will not apply to officials re-employed in GMRCL after superannuation.

Salary

• General Manager: Revised IDA scale of Rs. 1,20,000 - 2,80,000 (approx CTC Rs. 3.5 Lacs per month). Post-superannuation: consolidated Rs. 1,70,000 per month.
• Joint General Manager: Rs. 90,000 - 2,40,000 (approx CTC Rs. 2.6 Lacs per month). Post-superannuation: consolidated Rs. 1,45,000 per month.
• Sr. Deputy General Manager: Rs. 80,000 - 2,20,000 (approx CTC Rs. 2.4 Lacs per month). Post-superannuation: consolidated Rs. 1,00,000 per month.
• Deputy General Manager: Rs. 70,000 - 2,00,000 (approx CTC Rs. 2.1 Lacs per month). Post-superannuation: consolidated Rs. 1,00,000 per month.
• For deputation: as per standard terms & conditions of parent organisation.
• Plus other benefits including Group Medical Coverage and Group Personal Accident Insurance as per GMRCL policies.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection will be done through the following stages:

1. Application Scrutiny: Eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on qualification and experience.
2. Document Verification: Done before the interview. Original certificates must be produced.
3. Personal Interview: The Selection Committee will judge knowledge, skills, experience, expertise, aptitude and physical fitness. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the same grade or immediate lower grade.
4. Medical Examination: As per the category prescribed for the post.

• Lead and supervise civil maintenance, QA/QC or underground tunnel works for the metro project
• Plan and execute civil engineering activities for viaducts, bridges, tunnels and stations
• Monitor construction supervision, segment casting and launching girder erection for elevated sections
• Ensure quality control and quality assurance of all civil works as per design and safety standards
• Manage industrial safety of civil works on metro and infrastructure projects
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants and government agencies on technical matters
• Prepare project reports, budgets and progress updates for senior management
• Lead and mentor engineering teams across Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Surat sites
