Who Can Apply?

Engineering Disciplines

• CSE/IT, ECE and Mechanical Engineering: You need B.E./B.Tech or equivalent and ME/MTech or equivalent, or Integrated M.Tech in the relevant branch, with first class or equivalent in any one of the degrees.
• Relevant branches: The annexures list branches such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication, Electronics, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical, Production, Thermal, Design, Mechatronics, Robotics and Automation or equivalent branches.
• Rules: Qualification and relaxation are linked to AICTE/UGC norms as amended from time to time.

Liberal Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences

• Master's route: You need a Master's degree with 55% marks or equivalent grade in the concerned, relevant or allied subject.
• NET/SET route: You must have cleared NET conducted by UGC/CSIR or a similar accredited test like SLET/SET, unless exempted under UGC PhD rules.
• PhD exemption: Candidates with PhD awarded under applicable UGC regulations can be exempted from NET/SLET/SET.
• Foreign PhD route: A PhD from a foreign university ranked in the top 500 by QS, THE or ARWU is also accepted as per the notice.

Age Limit

• The notice does not give a single fixed maximum age for all applicants.
• Age and eligibility date: Educational qualification, age, experience and other eligibility conditions will be checked as on 8 July 2026.
• Relaxation: Age relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates will be as per rules.

Selection Process

GGSIPU will shortlist applicants based on academic score, research score, experience and University rules. The notice says the University may adopt any mode of test if applications are large, but the test scheme and syllabus will be announced later on the University website if used.

2. Shortlisting: The University can shortlist applicants based on academic research score, experience and other criteria.

No TA/DA will be paid for submission of application or for appearing in screening test, presentation or interview.
