GGH Vizianagaram Drug De-Addiction Centre Recruitment 2026 - 9 Posts

Government Teaching General Hospital (GGH), Vizianagaram, under the Medical Education Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, has invited applications for 9 posts on contract basis for the Drug De-Addiction Centre. The recruitment is conducted by the District Selection Committee headed by the District Collector, Vizianagaram. Only candidates from erstwhile Vizianagaram district can apply as the recruitment jurisdiction is limited to this area. Applications must be submitted physically or through post to the office of the Superintendent, GGH Vizianagaram.

Who Can Apply?

For Doctor (Full-time)

• MBBS with registration in Medical Council / Medical Commission
• Should undergo training arranged by MOSJE/NISD within three months of joining the IRCA

For Project Coordinator cum Vocational Counselor

• Graduate with at least 3 years of experience managing such centres, or demonstrable capability
• Working knowledge of computers

For Counselor / Social Worker / Psychologist

• Graduation in Social Sciences (preferably Social Work or Psychology) with 1-2 years field experience
• Knowledge of English and one regional language
• Preference for certificate in de-addiction counseling from recognized institution

For Peer Educator

• Literate, ex-drug user with 1-2 years of sobriety
• Willing to work among drug-using population with good communication skills
• Must agree to refrain from drug use, buying or selling

For Ward Boy

• Class 8th pass with experience in hospitals, health care centres, or de-addiction centres

For Yoga Therapist / Dance / Music / Art Teacher

• At least 3 years of experience in the respective discipline

For Chowkidar (Male only)

• Must have passed 5th class or equivalent
• Must be an Ex-Serviceman OR trained in Civil Defense / Home Guard
• Must be able to ride a bicycle

For Housekeeping Staff

• Must have passed 5th class or equivalent

Local Candidature

• Only candidates from erstwhile Vizianagaram district can apply

Age Limit

• Upper age limit: 42 years as on 01 July 2025
• SC / ST / BC / EWS candidates: 5 years relaxation
• Ex-Servicemen: 3 years relaxation plus length of service in armed forces
• Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 10 years relaxation
• Maximum age with all relaxations: 52 years

Salary

• Doctor (Full-time): Rs. 60,000 per month
• Project Coordinator cum Vocational Counselor: Rs. 25,000 per month
• Counselor / Social Worker / Psychologist: Rs. 17,500 per month
• Ward Boy: Rs. 13,000 per month
• Peer Educator: Rs. 10,000 per month

Selection Process

Selection is based on Merit cum Roster (Total 100 marks):

1. Qualifying Exam Marks (75 marks): Aggregate of marks in all years of the qualifying examination
2. Experience Weightage (up to 10 marks): 1 mark per completed year after acquiring requisite qualification
3. Contract Service Weightage (up to 15 marks): For service rendered in State PSU / Government Organizations on Contract / Outsourcing basis. Tribal Area: 2.5 marks per 6 months; Rural: 2.0 marks per 6 months; Urban: 1.0 mark per 6 months
4. COVID-19 Service Weightage: 5 marks per 6 months, 10 marks per year, 15 marks per 1.5 years (for exclusive COVID-19 contract service)
5. Document Verification and Counseling

For Ward Boy, Chowkidar, and Housekeeping Staff posts, selection is based purely on marks obtained in the qualifying academic examination.

5. Submit the application physically at the specific counters in the office of the Superintendent, GGH Vizianagaram, OR send by post / courier

• Educate peers and the community about prevention of harmful drug use and relapse
• Conduct yoga, art, music, or dance therapy sessions to support patient recovery
• Maintain hospital cleanliness, security, and ward support services
