Government General Hospital Guntur is hiring for 5 posts in the new Drug De-Addiction Centres in Guntur District. GGH Guntur Drug De-Addiction Centre Recruitment 2026 - 5 Posts
Government General Hospital (GGH), Guntur, under the Health, Medical & Family Welfare Department of Andhra Pradesh, has released Notification No. 01/2026 dated 19.05.2026 for filling 5 vacant posts in the Drug De-Addiction Centres. The engagement is on a temporary basis initially for one year under the administrative control of GGH/Guntur Medical College. Recruitment is open to candidates from the erstwhile Guntur District only, and selection is purely merit-based with no written exam.

- Accountant cum Clerk: 1 post (OC-3) - Rs. 12,000/month

Who Can Apply?
Accountant cum Clerk (1 post)
- Qualification: Graduate with knowledge of accounts and working knowledge of computers.
Peer Educator (1 post)
- Qualification: Should be literate, Ex-drug user with 1-2 years of sobriety, willing to work among drug-using population, with good communication skills.
- You must agree to refrain from using, buying, or selling drugs and be ready to work for the prevention of harmful drug use and relapse.
Chowkidar (2 posts)
- Qualification: Must have passed 5th class (Vth class).
- You must be able to ride a bicycle or motorcycle.
House Keeping Worker (1 post)
- Qualification: Must be able to read and write in Telugu.
Local candidates of the erstwhile Guntur District only are eligible to apply.
Age Limit
- Upper age limit: 42 years as on 30 April 2026.
- Age Relaxation:
- SC, ST, BC and EWS candidates: 5 years
- Ex-Servicemen: 3 years plus length of service in armed forces
- Differently Abled Persons: 10 years
Salary
- Accountant cum Clerk: Rs. 12,000 per month
- Peer Educator: Rs. 10,000 per month
- Chowkidar: Rs. 9,000 per month
- House Keeping Worker: Rs. 9,000 per month
- These are consolidated monthly remunerations for a one-year contract engagement, with no additional allowances.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)
Selection is based purely on merit. The weightage is as follows:
- Aggregate marks in qualifying exam (90 marks): 90% weightage based on aggregate marks in all years of your qualifying examination.
- Years since passing qualifying exam (up to 10 marks): 1 mark per completed year after acquiring the required qualification, maximum 10 marks.
Total marks: 100. Final selection is based on Merit cum Roster of Reservation (RoR) as per the rules of the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

- Take a Demand Draft for the application fee from SBI or Union Bank in favour of Superintendent, HDS, Government General Hospital, Guntur.

Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day functioning of the Drug De-Addiction Centre at GGH Guntur
- Handle accounts, records, and basic office work for the Accountant cum Clerk role
- Counsel and motivate drug users to seek treatment and stay drug-free (Peer Educator)
- Guard the centre premises and assist with running errands using a bicycle or motorcycle (Chowkidar)
- Keep the centre clean and maintain hygiene of wards and common areas (Housekeeping)
- Report to the Superintendent of GGH Guntur and follow hospital protocols
- Stay at the assigned headquarters and work as per shift schedules
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
5th Class Pass (Chowkidar) / Literate (Peer Educator, Housekeeping) / Graduate (Accountant cum Clerk)
Preferred Qualification
Knowledge of computers and accounts for Accountant cum Clerk; Ability to read and write Telugu for Housekeeping
Required Skills
