Who Can Apply?

• Qualification route 1: You need an Engineer Certificate of Competency issued under the ISV Act, 1971.
• Qualification route 2: You can also apply with 4 years regular apprenticeship in a Marine Engineering workshop recognised by the Ministry / Government of India.
• Experience: You need 2 years post-qualification experience as watch-keeping engineer in ocean-going vessels.
• Navy route: Indian Navy candidates can apply with 4 years' experience as Engine Room Artificer or a higher post, along with 2 years' watch-keeping engineer experience on ocean-going vessels.

Assistant Manager (Floating Crafts)

• Qualification: You need a degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering from a recognised university or institution.
• Experience route 1: You need 3 years post-qualification experience in maintenance of marine electrical installation.
• Navy route: You can also apply if you have worked as Chief Electrical Artificer in the Indian Navy.

General Eligibility

• Nationality: Indian citizens can apply. Other nationality categories listed in the notice need a Government of India eligibility certificate.
• Recognised qualification: Qualifications must be from recognised Indian universities, institutes or boards approved by the proper authority.
• Government employees: Employees in Central / State Government, Semi-Government bodies, autonomous bodies or CPSEs must apply through proper channel or submit NOC at interview.

Age Limit

• Upper age limit: 28 years for both Assistant Manager posts.
• Age reference date: Age, qualification and experience are counted as on 1 June 2026.
• OBC (NCL): 3 years age relaxation.
• Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation by the length of military service plus 3 years, subject to Government rules.
• Major Port Employees: Relaxation up to the age of 55 years.

Salary

• Pay scale: Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 1,40,000 per month under IDA pattern.

Selection Process
