The Directorate of Education, U.T. Administration of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (DoE DNHDD) is engaging Pre-School Teachers and female Caretaker/Helpers under Samagra Shiksha, the Ministry of Education's centrally sponsored school programme. This is a short-term contractual drive conducted through walk-in interviews, with work attached to early-childhood classrooms in Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman. The two roles suit different profiles: trained early-years educators can choose the teaching post, while women with a secondary-school qualification can consider the classroom-support role.

Posts and Disciplines

• Pre-School Teacher: an early-childhood education role for candidates with recognised nursery, pre-school or elementary teacher training. The work focuses on helping young children learn through age-appropriate activities and maintaining a safe, welcoming classroom.
• Caretaker/Helper (Female): a support role for women who can help with children's daily care, classroom readiness and basic upkeep. Most of these positions are assigned within Dadra and Nagar Haveli, with a separate group for Daman.

Post-wise Duties

Pre-School Teacher

You will plan simple classroom activities, observe each child's progress and work with the school team to support early learning and school readiness. You will also keep basic classroom records, organise play-based sessions and communicate clearly with parents or guardians when needed.

Caretaker/Helper (Female)

You will support children during the school day, prepare the learning space and help the teacher maintain clean, orderly and child-friendly surroundings. The role may involve arranging materials, assisting during activities and watching over children's comfort and safety.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract status: The engagement is temporary and does not create any right to regular appointment in the Directorate.
• Teacher bridge course: candidates appointed with D.El.Ed. or B.El.Ed. must complete an NCTE-recognised six-month bridge course in Nursery Teacher Education, Early Childhood Education or Pre-School Teacher Education within two years.
• Document check: bring originals with self-attested copies because eligibility is checked at the venue before you can attend the interview.
• Travel costs: the Directorate will not pay TA or DA for attending the walk-in.
• Position changes: the competent authority may increase, reduce, cancel or leave positions unfilled, and its decision will be final.
• Accuracy of details: false, incomplete or suppressed information can lead to cancellation at any stage.
