Dr. Hedgewar Arogya Sansthan, a hospital under the Health & Family Welfare Department of the Government of NCT of Delhi, has released a notice for 16 Senior Resident posts on an adhoc basis at its Karkardooma campus. The posts are spread across seven specialties, and the appointment follows the residency scheme of the Government of India. No written exam is required — selection is entirely through a walk-in interview, which makes this a quick opportunity for doctors who already hold, or are close to completing, their postgraduate qualification. The initial appointment is for 44 days, extendable up to a maximum of 3 years (with a mandatory 1-day break after every 44-day cycle), subject to a satisfactory conduct report, or until a regular candidate joins — whichever comes first. Your total tenure as a Senior Resident, including any earlier ad-hoc or regular service in any recognized institution, cannot exceed 3 years.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need an MBBS degree with a postgraduate Degree, Diploma, or DNB in the concerned specialty from a recognized university or institution.
• Registration: You must hold a valid registration with the Delhi Medical Council.
• Residency Limit: You should not have completed 3 years of Senior Residency (adhoc or regular) in any recognized institution already.
• If PG candidates are not available: Candidates with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the concerned specialty may also be considered, but such candidates will be appointed on an adhoc basis only.
• Governing Rules: Your service will be governed by the residency scheme under the Government of India Civil Services (Temporary) Rules.

Age Limit

• You should be up to 45 years old as on the date of interview (3 August 2026).
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates, and 5 extra years for Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan).

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary as per Pay Level 11 (Rs. 67,700 to Rs. 2,08,700 per month) of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
• You will also get allowances as admissible under the applicable rules.

Selection Process

The selection will be done through the following steps:

1. Walk-in Interview: Held at the Establishment Branch, DHAS Hospital, Karkardooma, Delhi.
2. Document Verification: You must bring all original certificates and testimonials along with 2 recent passport-size photographs.
3. Medical Fitness Check: Your appointment will be subject to medical fitness clearance.

If enough freshly-qualified candidates are not available, DHAS follows a priority order for filling the posts: a separate merit list is prepared for candidates who have already completed 3 years of Senior Residency elsewhere, and this second list is used only after the list of fresh candidates is exhausted. Any appointment made from the second list is limited to 1 year and is not renewable further. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.
