Who Can Apply?
For Programme Officer and District Child Protection Officer
- Qualification: You need a PG degree in Social Work, Sociology, Child Development, Human Rights, Public Administration, Psychology, Psychiatry, Law, Public Health or Community Resource Management with at least 50% marks.
- School marks: You must also have passed 12th from a recognised school with at least 60% marks.
- Experience: Programme Officer needs at least 2 years, while DCPO needs at least 3 years of relevant paid experience after the essential qualification.
For Protection Officer Posts
- Qualification option 1: PG degree in the listed social work, law, health, psychology or public administration subjects with at least 50% marks.
- Qualification option 2: Graduate degree in the same broad fields with 2 years of relevant experience after graduation.
- Skills: Computer skills, writing skills and knowledge of English and Hindi are needed.
For Legal, Social Work, Counselling, Accounts and Data Posts
- Legal-cum Probation Officer: LLB with 2 years of relevant work experience and good understanding of child rights.
- Social Worker: B.A. in Social Work, Sociology or Social Sciences with 50% marks and at least 1 year of experience.
- Counselor: Graduate degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Public Health or Counselling, or PG Diploma in Counselling and Communication, with 1 year of experience.
- Accountant: Graduate degree in Commerce or Mathematics with Tally knowledge and 1 year of experience.
- Data Analyst: Graduation in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or Computer/BCA with 1 year of experience.
- Assistant-cum-DEO: 12th pass with 60% marks, 1-year computer certificate or diploma, and 35 WPM English typing on computer.
- Outreach Worker: 12th pass with 60% marks, good communication skills, basic computer knowledge and 1 year of child development field experience.
Age Limit
- 40 years: Programme Officer, District Child Protection Officer, Protection Officer and Legal-cum Probation Officer posts.
- 35 years: Social Worker, Counselor, Accountant, Data Analyst, Assistant-cum-DEO and Outreach Worker posts.
- Age date: The age limit is checked as on the application closing date, 26 June 2026.
- Department experience relaxation: People already working in Delhi WCD may get relaxation based on departmental experience.
Salary
- District Child Protection Officer: Rs. 44,023 per month.

Responsibilities
- Handle child protection work under SCPS, DCPU, CWC, JJB and SJPU units
- Coordinate support services for children who need care, protection or legal help
- Prepare reports, case files, data records and district-level child protection plans
- Work with district officers, child care institutions, NGOs and community workers
- Monitor child care institutions, adoption support, outreach work and field visits as assigned
- Assist with counselling, legal support, accounts, data entry or outreach duties based on the selected post
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Post-wise eligibility: 12th pass with 60% plus PG, graduate, LLB, commerce/maths, statistics/economics/BCA, or computer diploma as applicable.
Preferred Qualification
Relevant paid experience in child protection, women and child development, social welfare, documentation, counselling, accounts, data analysis, field work or computer operations as per the post.
Required Skills
