Who Can Apply?

For Legal-cum-Probation Officer (LCPO)

• Qualification: LLB from a recognised University.
• Experience: At least 2 years of working experience with Government / NGO / Legal Matters, preferably in the field of Women & Child Rights.
• Knowledge: Good understanding of Women & Child rights and protection issues.

For Assistant Cum Data Entry Operator (DCPU)

• Qualification: 12th passed from a recognised Board or equivalent.
• Computer Skills: Diploma / Certificate in Computers.
• Experience: Weightage will be given to candidates with work experience.

Age Limit

• Age will be calculated as on 30 April 2026.
• Specific minimum and maximum age limits will be as per Tamil Nadu Government rules for contract appointments.

Salary

• Legal-cum-Probation Officer (LCPO): Rs. 27,804 per month (consolidated, contract basis).
• Assistant Cum Data Entry Operator (DCPU): Rs. 13,240 per month (consolidated, contract basis).
• No separate allowances. Salary is a consolidated amount.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is purely based on qualification, experience and personal interaction:

1. Application Screening: Applications are screened for completeness and eligibility.

3. Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for interview at the DCPU office, Mayiladuthurai.

• Provide legal advice and support on child protection cases under the Juvenile Justice Act and related laws (LCPO)
• Coordinate with Child Welfare Committee, Juvenile Justice Board, police and NGOs on case management (LCPO)
• Conduct social investigation reports and home study reports for children in need of care (LCPO)
• Maintain records of all child protection cases and follow up on rehabilitation plans (LCPO)
• Handle data entry of beneficiary information into the Mission Vatsalya MIS portal (Assistant)
• Prepare reports, letters and official documents related to DCPU activities (Assistant)
• Maintain office records, files and correspondence for the DCPU (Assistant)
• Assist senior officers with day-to-day administrative work and field visits (Assistant)
