Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), through CSIR Innovation Complex, Mumbai, has notified project positions under project codes MLP 002617 and HCP 532601. The engagement is temporary, contract-based, and initially for one year, with extension possible as per CSIR rules and project needs. Who Can Apply?

Project Scientist-I

• Qualification: Doctoral Degree in Science OR Master's/Integrated Master's Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognised university or equivalent.
• Experience: You need 4 years of research and development experience in industrial, academic, science and technology organisations, or scientific services.
• Specialisation: Analytical chemistry, chemical sciences, pharmaceutical analysis, pharmaceutical sciences, life sciences, engineering, technology, EHS, or related areas as per the post.

Project Scientist-II

• Qualification: Doctoral Degree in Science OR Master's/Integrated Master's Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognised university or equivalent.
• Experience: You need 5 years of R&D experience in the relevant science, technology, industrial, or academic area.
• Desirable: Business administration, incubation facility management, S&T management, technology transfer, project management, business development, and pharma industry exposure are useful.

Project Scientist-III

• Qualification: Doctoral Degree in Science OR Master's/Integrated Master's in Engineering or Technology from a recognised university or equivalent.
• Experience: You need 7 years of R&D experience in the relevant areas.
• Specialisation: Analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical analysis, pharmaceutical sciences, life sciences, pharmacology, toxicology, ADME-PK, or related areas as mentioned in the post table.

Senior Project Associate

• Qualification option 1: Master's/Integrated Master's degree with 3 years of R&D experience.
• Qualification option 2: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or Medicine with 3 years of R&D experience.
• Qualification option 3: Master's/Integrated Master's in Engineering or Technology, or Doctoral degree in Science/Pharma/MD/MS, with 2 years of R&D experience.

Age Limit

• Project Scientist-I: Maximum age 35 years.
• Project Scientist-II and Senior Project Associate: Maximum age 40 years.
• Project Scientist-III: Maximum age 45 years.
• Age reference date: Qualification and age will be checked as on the date of walk-in interview.
• Age relaxation: Upper age is relaxable by 5 years for SC, ST, Divyangjan/PwD, and women applicants, and by 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) applicants, as per Government of India or funding agency norms.

Salary

• Project Scientist-I: Rs. 56,000 per month + HRA. An increment of 5% is available for every 2 years of experience in the same project.
• Project Scientist-II: Rs. 67,000 per month + HRA. An increment of 5% is available for every 2 years of experience in the same project.
• Project Scientist-III: Rs. 78,000 per month + HRA. An increment of 5% is available for every 2 years of experience in the same project.
• Senior Project Associate: Rs. 42,000 per month + HRA.

Selection Process (Walk-in Interview)

Selection will be through a walk-in interview and document checking. The notice does not mention a separate written exam for these project posts.

1. Document Verification: Bring original certificates and self-attested copies for age, qualification, marks, experience, category, and other claims.
2. Walk-in Interview: Eligible applicants should attend the interview on 30 June 2026. Final suitability will be decided by CSIR Innovation Complex based on the post requirements.
3. Panel/Empanelment: The notice says suitable applicants may be empaneled for future project needs.
