CSIR-IICT is hiring for 26 project-based positions including Research Associate, Senior Project Associate, Project Associate-II, Project Associate-I, and Project Assistant-II in Hyderabad. If you have a Ph.D, M.Sc, M.Tech, M.Pharm, or B.Tech in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or related fields, you can walk in directly for an interview. The walk-in is scheduled for 05 and 06 May 2026 at CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad. Salary ranges from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 58,000 per month plus HRA depending on the post.

CSIR-IICT Project Staff Recruitment 2026 - 26 Posts

CSIR - Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT), Hyderabad has released Notification No. PS/04/2026 for walk-in interviews on 5th and 6th May 2026 for 26 temporary project positions. These posts are under various sponsored research projects at this premier national laboratory under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR). No application fee is required and candidates can attend directly by registering between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM on the interview day. These are research-focused roles suited to fresh postgraduates and experienced researchers in chemistry and life sciences.

Who Can Apply?

Research Associate (P) — Position Code 1

• Essential: Ph.D. in Chemistry
• Desirable: Experience in catalyst synthesis, characterization, and high-pressure/high-temperature reactions

Senior Project Associate — Position Code 2

• Essential: M.Sc. in Chemistry or Polymer Science with 3 years R&D experience
• Desirable: Research experience in Polymer Synthesis & Coatings

Project Associate-II (PAT-II) — Position Codes 3 to 9, 12

• Essential (varies by project): M.Sc. in Chemistry / Environmental Science / Microbiology / Biotechnology with 2 years experience, OR M.Tech in Chemical Engineering / Environmental Engineering, OR B.Tech in Chemical Engineering with 2 years R&D experience
• Desirable: Project-specific lab skills including organic synthesis, process modelling, bioprocess development, or analytical chemistry

Project Associate-I (PAT-I) — Position Codes 10, 13-23

• Essential (varies by project): M.Sc. in Chemistry / Life Sciences / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Agricultural Entomology / Statistics / Computer Science, OR M.Pharm in Pharmacology / Pharmaceutics / Pharmaceutical Chemistry, OR B.Tech in Chemical Engineering / Biotechnology
• Note: Some positions require valid NET/GATE for higher stipend of Rs. 31,000+HRA

Project Assistant-II (PA-II) — Position Codes 11, 19

• Essential: B.Sc. in Statistics / Computer Science (Code 11) OR B.Sc. Agriculture (Code 19)

Only candidates who have completed the essential qualification with declared results (and have at least a provisional certificate) are eligible. Result-awaited / final semester candidates are NOT eligible.

Age Limit

• Research Associate (P): Up to 35 years as on date of walk-in interview
• Senior Project Associate: Up to 40 years as on date of walk-in interview
• Project Associate-II, Project Associate-I, Project Assistant-II: Up to 35 years as on date of walk-in interview
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST — 5 years; OBC — 3 years; Women and PwBD — as per CSIR/Government of India rules
• Note: Candidates who have already served CSIR-IICT or any other CSIR lab/institute in project positions for a total of 6 years or more are not eligible for these posts.

Salary / Stipend

• Research Associate (P): Rs. 58,000 + 27% HRA per month
• Senior Project Associate: Rs. 42,000 + 30% HRA per month
• Project Associate-II: Rs. 28,000 + HRA (24% to 30% depending on project) per month
• Project Associate-I: Rs. 25,000 + HRA (24% to 30%); Rs. 31,000 + HRA for NET/GATE qualified candidates per month
• Project Assistant-II: Rs. 20,000 + HRA (27% to 30%) per month
• These are temporary project-based engagements. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

Selection Process

This is a walk-in interview — no written exam. Selection is done in the following steps:

1. Registration: Report to the venue between 09:30 AM and 10:30 AM on the interview date. Candidates arriving after 10:30 AM will not be registered.
2. Document Verification: Present original certificates from Matric/10th onwards, valid NET/GATE certificates (if applicable), experience documents, caste certificate, date of birth proof, and passport-size photographs.
3. Walk-in Interview: Appear for the interview with the duly filled application form (downloadable from the CSIR-IICT website).
4. Skill Test (if applicable): A skill test may be conducted for suitable posts.

Position Codes 1 to 11 attend on 05 May 2026 (Tuesday). Position Codes 12 to 23 attend on 06 May 2026 (Wednesday).

How to Apply

3. Arrange one set of self-attested photocopies of all educational certificates from 10th onwards, experience documents, and a recent passport-size photograph.
4. Check your position code from the notification and note your interview date (05 May or 06 May 2026).
5. Arrive at CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad – 500 007 on the correct date and register your name between 09:30 AM and 10:30 AM.
6. Carry all original documents for verification. Candidates without required documents will not be allowed for the interview.
