CGCRI Project Associate I Recruitment 2026: Overview

CSIR-Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (CSIR-CGCRI) is hiring a Project Associate I for a glass-research project at its Kolkata campus. Supported by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), project OLP2304 focuses on multifunctional glasses for strategic uses, optics, renewable energy and smart agriculture. You would join through a project contract, with continuation tied to the funding available for the work.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Project setting: The work belongs to OLP2304, which brings several uses of multifunctional glass under the same research project. Strategic, optical, energy and agricultural applications describe the scope of this project; they are not separate advertised posts or independent application routes.
  • Notice reference: This recruitment uses advertisement 45/2627/SGD/OLP2304/AKM and post code 45/2627/01. Use these identifiers when checking which project notice your application belongs to.
  • Initial tenure: The engagement begins with a one-year term. Any extension after that depends on funds being available. The notice does not promise an extension, so consider the stated initial term when planning a move from your present assignment.
  • Work location: The project is based at CSIR-CGCRI in Kolkata. This is the institute named for the engagement, rather than an unspecified posting across the wider CSIR network. The same institute is also the venue named for attending in person.
  • Separate advertisements: If you apply for another position or advertisement alongside this one, you need a separate application for it. Keep each application linked to the relevant advertisement so that this glass-research application is not treated as a combined request for other projects.
  • Recruitment discretion: The institute may decide not to fill the post. It may also change the number of positions according to its needs, and its decision on that point will be final. The advertised opening therefore remains subject to the institute proceeding with the engagement.
  • Application completeness: CSIR-CGCRI will reject incomplete applications or those that do not use its prescribed format. It will not accept applications after the stated closing date and will not respond to interim enquiries about this recruitment.

Application Submission Notes

Email your application to recruitment.cgcri@csir.res.in, using the prescribed form. The form must be typed, not handwritten. For the in-person visit, the venue is CSIR-CGCRI, 196, Raja S. C. Mullick Road, Kolkata-32. Report by 10:00 a.m., at least one hour before the scheduled interview; the institute will not admit you after the reporting time.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare research summaries for the project team.
