Ambedkar Nagar Hospital (ANH), under the Government of NCT of Delhi, is recruiting Senior Residents for its hospital in Dakshinpuri, New Delhi. This is an emergency ad-hoc recruitment drive across clinical specialties. The engagement is temporary, and a regular appointee joining can bring your appointment to an end.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: The usual appointment lasts 89 days. An extension needs your written request and a recommendation from the department head or medical officer in charge, with a one-day break between terms. A regular incumbent joining can end the engagement earlier.
• Residency limit: Your earlier Senior Resident service in government hospitals, institutes and organisations counts towards the overall three-year tenure. You must disclose that service when accepting the appointment.
• Reserved-post arrangement: If suitable applicants from SC, ST, OBC or EWS categories are unavailable, the hospital may appoint a general-category doctor against the vacancy for 44 days, or until a regular candidate from the relevant category joins, whichever is earlier.
• Relaxed residency provision: Doctors who have already completed three years of Senior Residency may be considered if fresh candidates are unavailable. The hospital keeps a separate merit list for this group and uses it only after exhausting the fresh-candidate list. Appointment from the second list lasts one year and cannot be renewed.
• Exclusive service: Private practice is prohibited, and you cannot simultaneously work as a Senior Resident at another hospital. A breach can lead to termination and action concerning your medical registration.
• Work allocation: The hospital may assign Senior Residents from any specialty to Accident and Emergency according to patient-care needs. Service follows the applicable residency scheme.
• Reservation checks: Reserved-category appointments remain provisional until the relevant certificates are checked. OBC reservation requires a certificate issued for the Government of NCT of Delhi and current non-creamy-layer status.
• Leaving the post: You must give seven days' notice before resigning, or pay seven days' salary instead. Tell the hospital seven days before your term ends if you do not want an extension. The notice also sets out termination conditions for unsatisfactory conduct and unauthorised absence.
• Attendance and conduct: Unauthorised absence attracts no salary; absence lasting more than seven days can end the appointment. The hospital records such absence when issuing an experience certificate.
• Vacancy changes: Openings depend on actual availability at the interview and may change without advance notice.
