All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has released the notification for NORCET 10 (Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test - 10th phase). This is a great opportunity for nursing professionals to join as Nursing Officer (Group B) at top central government hospitals across India.
There are a total of 3,625 vacancies at 26 institutes, including 18 AIIMS and 8 other central government hospitals like JIPMER, VMMC Safdarjung Hospital, CIP Ranchi, and more.

Who Can Apply?
You can apply through any of these pathways:
- Pathway 1: B.Sc Nursing (Hons) / B.Sc Nursing / Post-Basic B.Sc Nursing + Registration with State or Indian Nursing Council
- Pathway 2: GNM Diploma + 2 years of experience in a hospital with at least 50 beds + Nursing Council registration
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 30 years (as on 16 March 2026)
- SC/ST: 5 years relaxation
- OBC: 3 years relaxation
- PwBD: 10 years relaxation
Salary and Pay
Selected candidates will get pay as per 7th Pay Commission Level 7:
- Basic Pay: Rs 44,900 - Rs 1,42,400 per month
- Gross Salary: Around Rs 81,977 per month
- In-Hand Salary: Around Rs 66,663 per month
- Grade Pay: Rs 4,600 (pre-revised)
- Allowances: DA (53%), HRA (8-24% depending on city), TA, Nursing Allowance, Night Duty Allowance, Risk Allowance, LTC, and Pension
Selection Process
Selection will be done through a 2-stage Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by document verification and medical exam.
Stage I - Preliminary Exam (Qualifying)
- 100 MCQs in 90 minutes
- 5 sections with 20 questions each (18 minutes per section)
- 20 questions on General Knowledge + 80 on Nursing
- Negative marking: -1/3 for each wrong answer
- Sections are sequential (you cannot go back)
- This is a qualifying exam only
Stage II - Mains Exam (Merit-Determining)
- 160 MCQs in 180 minutes (3 hours)
- 4 sections with 40 questions each (45 minutes per section)
- Case scenario-based nursing questions
- Negative marking: -1/3 for each wrong answer
- Sections are sequential
- Your final merit will be based on this exam

Responsibilities
- Provide patient care and nursing services in the assigned ward or department
- Give medicines and injections to patients as directed by doctors
- Monitor patient health and record vital signs like blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Keep proper records of patient treatment, medicines, and health updates
- Help doctors during medical procedures and surgeries
- Follow hospital infection control and safety guidelines
- Work in rotating shifts including morning, evening, and night duty
- Educate patients and their families about health care and recovery
- Handle emergency cases and provide first aid when needed
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the ward area

B.Sc Nursing / Post-Basic B.Sc Nursing or GNM Diploma with 2 years experience
Preferred Qualification
B.Sc Nursing (Hons) from a recognized university
