AIIMS Mangalagiri Project Research Scientist Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

All India Institute of Medical Sciences Mangalagiri has issued a recruitment notice for a temporary project position sanctioned under ICMR small grants. The post is linked to the project titled Cannabidiol as an adjunctive short-term treatment during inpatient detoxification in patients with Alcohol dependence. This is a temporary contractual project post under the Department of Psychiatry, not a regular AIIMS payroll appointment.

The site project team is led by Dr Sangha Mitra Godi, Assistant Professor, Psychiatry, with Dr Vijaya Chandra Reddy A, Professor, Psychiatry, as Co-Principal Investigator. The selected person will support a clinical research study that involves patient interviews, informed consent, data collection, team coordination, and report writing.

Who Can Apply?

Minimum Essential Qualification

• Qualification: You must have MBBS, BVSc, BDS, or an equivalent degree.
• Project Area: The work is connected with a multicentre Phase III randomized controlled trial in Alcohol dependence treatment.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Languages: Good communication skills in Telugu, Hindi, and English are desirable.
• Psychiatry Exposure: Work experience in Psychiatry is desirable.
• Research Experience: Prior experience in a research project related to substance abuse or dependence will help.
• Computer Skills: Experience with computer work, word processor tools, and data entry software is desirable.

This role is best suited for a medical graduate who is comfortable with clinical research work and can communicate with patients in a clear and respectful way. The notification also prefers candidates who can handle computer work, word processing, and data entry during the project.

Regular government employees already in time-scale service under any government organisation or department cannot apply for this project post. Incomplete applications, wrong information, or canvassing can lead to rejection or disqualification.

Age Limit

• Maximum age limit is 35 years as on the last date of application.
• Age reference date: 25 July 2026.
• Age relaxation: Relaxation is applicable to SC, ST, BC, and Women candidates based on ICMR rules.

Salary

• Monthly salary: Rs. 67,000 per month
• Allowance: HRA as admissible
• The appointment is initially for 12 months as per ICMR guidelines and may be extended for another 12 months based on performance, project need, funds, and approval.

The contract is co-terminus with the project. Extension beyond the first 12 months depends on performance review, project requirement, fund availability, and approval from the competent authority.

Selection Process

The selection will be handled by the Selection Committee after checking complete applications and supporting documents.

3. Walk-in Interview: Applicants who meet the rules will attend the interview on 28 July 2026 from 9:00 AM onwards at the Administrative Block, AIIMS Mangalagiri.

5. Final Merit: Selection is based on merit and fulfilment of all eligibility conditions.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
