Yantra India Limited (YIL) - Ordnance Factory Katni, a defence public sector unit under the Ministry of Defence, is hiring a Labour Welfare Officer on a full-time fixed contract. The factory is part of YIL's network of production and support units created from the former Ordnance Factory Board. The role is a statutory bridge between factory management and industrial workers, with a strong focus on welfare, labour relations and safe working conditions.

Ordnance Factory Katni works in the defence-manufacturing system, where production discipline must sit alongside worker welfare and lawful employment practices. You will advise management and help workers understand policies while keeping communication open when individual or collective concerns arise. The work also connects factory departments with inspectors, medical services, safety committees and employee-welfare bodies.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Fixed contract: The initial engagement runs for two years and may be extended for one more year after appraisal, review and approval by YIL headquarters.
• Performance condition: The unit may end the contract before its scheduled completion if performance is found unsatisfactory, subject to headquarters approval.
• Transfer liability: YIL may place or transfer the selected officer among its units in West Bengal, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh or Uttar Pradesh, in line with the applicable factory-welfare rules.
• Factory schedule: Working hours follow the assigned unit's schedule. Urgent work may require attendance on Sundays or holidays without extra compensation.
• Leave: Contract leave accrues at one and a half days for each completed month, and unused leave cannot be carried beyond the calendar year.
• Accommodation: Suitable factory housing may be allotted under YIL policy on payment of the prescribed normal licence fee.
• Reserved opening: The advertised position is earmarked for the Scheduled Caste category, and the claim must be backed by a valid certificate.
