UCSL has released notification for 10 Graduate and Diploma Apprentice training seats in Malpe, Karnataka. Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), has released notification for 10 apprenticeship training seats at its Malpe facility in Karnataka. This recruitment covers both Graduate Apprentices (B.E./B.Tech holders) and Technician Diploma Apprentices across Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronic Engineering disciplines. The application fee is nil and selection is based on merit and certificate verification. Only candidates who are domicile of Karnataka can apply.

Category I - Graduate Apprentices (Stipend: Rs 15,000/month)

• Mechanical Engineering: 3 seats
• Electrical Engineering: 2 seats

Category II - Technician (Diploma) Apprentices (Stipend: Rs 13,200/month)

• Mechanical Engineering: 2 seats
• Electrical Engineering: 2 seats
• Electronic Engineering: 1 seat

Who Can Apply?

For Graduate Apprentices:

• Qualification: You need a B.E. / B.Tech degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognised university
• Year of passing: You must have passed during 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026
• Domicile: You must be a permanent resident of Karnataka

For Diploma Apprentices:

• Qualification: You need a Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic) from a recognised State Board of Technical Education or university
• Year of passing: You must have passed during 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026
• Domicile: You must be a permanent resident of Karnataka

Important: If you have already completed or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act 1973 in any organisation, you are not eligible to apply.

Age Limit

• You must be above 18 years old as on 16 March 2026.
• No upper age limit has been mentioned in the notification.
• Reservation: Government of India directives on reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD will be followed.

Stipend

• Graduate Apprentices will receive a stipend of Rs 15,000 per month plus meals allowance.
• Diploma Apprentices will receive a stipend of Rs 13,200 per month plus meals allowance.
• The training duration is 1 year under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973.
• No travel expenses, boarding, or lodging will be provided by UCSL during the training period.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on merit and does not involve a written examination:

1. Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on their academic merit
2. Certificate Verification: You will need to bring original certificates for age, qualification, percentage, caste, and disability (if any) along with self-attested copies
3. Medical Fitness: Selected candidates must be medically fit as per Apprenticeship Rule 1992

Note: If you fail to produce original certificates during verification, your candidature will be rejected.

1. Go to the NATS portal at nats.education.gov.in
2. If you are a new user, click on Student > Student Register and complete the registration form
3. If you had an account on the old portal (portal.mhrdnats.gov.in), activate your account using the "Forgot Password" option
4. Log in to your account
5. Search for "UDUPI COCHIN SHIPYARD LIMITED" under "Apply against advertised vacancies"
6. Click Apply and check that your status shows as "applied"
