Who Can Apply?

For Typist:

• You need SSLC / Second PUC or an equivalent qualification.
• You must hold a Senior Grade Kannada and English Typewriting certificate (or a 3-year Diploma in Commercial Practice with an equivalent typing qualification).

For Stenographer Grade-III:

• You need Second PUC or an equivalent qualification.
• You must hold a Senior Grade Kannada and English Shorthand certificate.

Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (blindness/low vision) and other reserved categories is available as per the notification.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 40 years old (General category).
• Category 2A / 2B / 3A / 3B: up to 43 years.
• SC / ST and Category-1: up to 45 years.
• Government employees and other eligible categories may get additional age relaxation as per the applicable service rules.

Salary

• Stenographer Grade-III: Rs. 44,425 to Rs. 83,700 per month (Karnataka state pay scale).
• Typist: Rs. 34,100 to Rs. 67,600 per month (Karnataka state pay scale).
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Karnataka government rules.

Selection Process

The selection includes:

1. Typing/Shorthand Skill Test: Typist candidates take a computer-based typing test in Kannada and English; Stenographer Grade-III candidates take a shorthand and typing test. You need a minimum of 50 out of 100 marks to qualify.
