SMKV Bastar Assistant Grade-3 Recruitment 2026: Overview

Shaheed Mahendra Karma Vishwavidyalaya (SMKV), Bastar, the state university at Jagdalpur in south Chhattisgarh, is filling Class III office posts through regular direct recruitment. Most of the openings are for Assistant Grade-3, the university's core clerical post, with a few Data Entry Operator and Store Keeper posts alongside.

These are permanent university jobs open only to permanent residents of Chhattisgarh. You qualify either as a graduate or with Class 12 plus a Modern Office Management (MOM) diploma, but every post also needs a computer diploma and a CPCT typing certificate — so line those up before you apply.

Posts and Disciplines

• Assistant Grade-3: the main clerical post in the university offices; some seats are reserved for women and one for a candidate with a benchmark disability.
• Data Entry Operator: a higher-paid computer post that needs typing in both Hindi and English at a faster speed than the other two posts.
• Store Keeper: a stores post at the same pay level as Assistant Grade-3, with the same qualification and typing requirement; one seat is reserved for OBC.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Domicile: You must be a permanent resident (mool niwasi) of Chhattisgarh and show the state domicile certificate at document verification.
• Typing certificate: it must be issued by the Chhattisgarh Shorthand Typewriting Computer Skill Test Council (computer and software based). Data Entry Operators need Hindi and English typing; Assistant Grade-3 and Store Keeper need Hindi or English.
• MOM diploma route: if you apply on the Class 12 route, the MOM diploma must come from a polytechnic recognised by the Chhattisgarh government.
• Probation: selected candidates join on a three-year probation.
• Experience bonus: current daily-wage employees of SMKV can earn up to 10 extra merit marks with an experience certificate.
• Joining checks: you join only after a District Hospital medical board fitness certificate and police character verification.
• Government employees: apply directly, but request a No Objection Certificate from your office immediately and bring it to document verification.
• Cut-off for qualifications: all certificates must be in hand by the last date of the advertisement; later ones are not accepted.
• Seat count may change: the university can increase or reduce the number of posts.

A correction window from 5 to 7 November 2026 (till 11:59 PM) opens after the closing date.
