SGPGIMS Guest Faculty Recruitment 2026: Overview

Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) is creating a panel of part-time external teachers for non-nursing subjects taught in the College of Nursing at Lucknow. The engagement supports the B.Sc. Nursing curriculum and is arranged subject by subject rather than as a regular institute appointment. This notice is specifically for Applied Anatomy and Pharmacology teaching, with the final lecture timetable controlled by the Principal of the College of Nursing.

The panel is meant for teachers who can bring recognised postgraduate subject knowledge and prior classroom experience into nursing education. Although the host college trains nurses, the advertised work is academic teaching in allied, non-nursing subjects. Your teaching should therefore help nursing students connect core anatomy and pharmacology concepts with the professional programme they are studying.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Applied Anatomy: teaching support for the first-semester B.Sc. Nursing course, covering the subject assigned by the College of Nursing.
  • Pharmacology: teaching support scheduled across the third and fourth semesters of the B.Sc. Nursing programme.

Both disciplines use the same guest-faculty arrangement, but the college will assess applicants against the qualification and teaching background relevant to the subject they choose. The notice does not promise a fixed workload, and the number of available part-time teaching slots may change according to academic need.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Empanelment only: this is a part-time external-teacher panel and not a regular, contractual or ad-hoc staff appointment.
  • No future claim: experience gained through this arrangement does not give you a right to claim permanent or other employment at SGPGIMS.
  • Lecture schedule: the Principal, College of Nursing will decide when the selected teacher's classes are held.
  • Payment timing: payment is released after completion of the assigned course.
  • Variable requirement: the institute may increase or reduce the number of teaching slots according to need.
  • Complete records: applicants who report without the complete supporting documents will not be permitted to take part in the assessment, interview or demonstration lecture.
  • Travel costs: SGPGIMS will not pay TA or DA for attending the walk-in selection.
  • Institute discretion: the Director may cancel the advertisement or an application at any stage without giving a reason.

The panel arrangement is deliberately flexible, so you should treat the teaching assignment as course-linked work rather than a guaranteed continuing timetable. The notice also makes completion of the assigned course important because that is when payment is processed.

Application Submission Notes

Send the completed prescribed form with photocopies of the relevant documents, each attested by a gazetted officer, through Registered Post or Speed Post. Address it to The College of Nursing, 2nd Floor, ADC Building, SGPGIMS, Lucknow, Pin 226014, Uttar Pradesh. Late applications are not considered.

The walk-in assessment is at the Seminar Room, College of Nursing, SGPGIMS, Lucknow, with reporting at 10.00 A.M. Bring your complete documents because the selection may include an interview, assessment and demonstration lecture.

Duly recognised postgraduate qualification in the relevant subject with teaching experience in that subject, as laid down by the Indian Nursing Council.

Subject teaching, lesson preparation and the ability to deliver a demonstration lecture for B.Sc. Nursing students.
