RITES Limited is engaging individual consultants for hospital information systems and civil construction assignments in Assam. These are client-linked consultancy engagements, and deployment depends on the client accepting your profile and continuing to need the service. The ICT role has an intermittent work arrangement, which is particularly important when assessing the commitment involved.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Independent status: You work as an independent consultant. The contract does not create an employer-employee relationship with RITES.
• Initial engagement: Each role has an initial tenure of 12 months. Extensions depend on performance and the project’s continuing requirements.
• ICT work schedule: The ICT assignment involves 12 months of work spread intermittently across a three-year project, or until its completion. RITES will normally give at least seven days’ notice of each work period.
• Civil project duration: The tentative work duration for the civil roles is 30 months, while the initial contract remains shorter. Continued engagement is not automatic.
• Client approval: RITES shares suitable profiles with the client. An engagement offer and actual deployment depend on profile approval, the award of work and company requirements.
• Exclusive service: If engaged full time, you cannot take another assignment during the consultancy period.
• Leave: The notice allows 1.5 days for each completed month, without carrying unused leave beyond the calendar year. Maternity leave may apply under the terms cited in the notice.
• Statutory benefits: The consultancy does not provide provident fund, employee state insurance or gratuity benefits. You must arrange appropriate personal insurance at your own cost.
• Confidentiality: Keep project information confidential. Work products and project records created under the contract belong to RITES, and company equipment must be returned when required.
• Ending the contract: The usual notice period is one month on either side, but the detailed contract also allows RITES to terminate without notice. An adverse police-verification result ends the engagement immediately.
• Travel: Interview, joining and completion travel are generally not reimbursed. The ICT role separately permits actual airfare reimbursement for approved New Delhi-Guwahati round trips during requested work stints.
• Conduct and review: Avoid conflicts of interest and cooperate with audits. Unsatisfactory service or false information can lead to the engagement being ended.
