PU Forensic Science Guest Faculty 2026: Overview
The Department of Forensic Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh wants one Guest Faculty to teach B.Sc. (Hons) in the odd semester of the academic year 2026-2027, under advertisement Ref. No. 370/26/DFS dated 25 September 2026. This is a lecture-basis assignment, not a regular teaching post.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Honorarium: a token Rs. 1,500 per lecture, with an upper limit of Rs. 50,000 per month.
- No other funding: you must give an undertaking that you will not draw any fellowship, stipend or financial assistance from any agency while teaching in the department as Guest Faculty.
- Marks relaxation: SC, ST, differently-abled and OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates, and Ph.D. holders who took their Master's degree before 19 September 1991, get a 5% relaxation.
- NET exemption: candidates registered for a Ph.D. before 11 July 2009 are exempt from NET/SLET/SET if the five conditions in the advertisement are certified by the Registrar or Dean (Academic Affairs).
- Interview: it will be held in October 2026; eligible candidates will be told the exact date and time by email and phone. No TA/DA is paid. Bring original certificates for verification.

Apply on the prescribed form (the Assistant Professor application form on the Panjab University jobs website, jobs.puchd.ac.in). The form and self-attested certificates must reach the office of the Department of Forensic Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh by 5 October 2026, 5 PM. This is a paper application to the department office, so plan for delivery in time.

Master's degree in Forensic Science or any other allied discipline with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade), plus NET conducted by UGC/CSIR or SLET/SET, or a Ph.D. awarded in accordance with the UGC regulations.
