NTPC Limited Director (Projects) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has invited applications for the post of Director (Projects) on the Board of NTPC Limited. NTPC is a Schedule 'A' Maharatna central public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Power. This is a single board-level vacancy, and the person selected will lead the planning and execution of NTPC's power projects across the country. The vacancy date for this post is 1 June 2027.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• You must be an Engineering Graduate with a good academic record from a recognised university or institute.

Experience

• You should have at least 5 years of cumulative experience during the last 10 years in Project Management or Operations and Maintenance at a senior level in a large organisation of repute.
• Experience in the power sector is an added advantage.

Who is eligible to apply

• Internal candidates from NTPC and other Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs).
• Government officers, including those from the Armed Forces and All India Services.
• Private sector executives from listed companies or large unlisted companies that meet the turnover norms set by PESB.
• Candidates from CPSEs, Government and the private sector must hold a post one level below the board level (or equivalent) to be eligible.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 45 years as on the vacancy date (1 June 2027).
• Internal CPSE candidates must have at least 2 years of residual service left before the date of superannuation (60 years), as on the vacancy date.
• Government, State PSE and private sector candidates must have at least 3 years of residual service left, as on the vacancy date.

Salary

• Pay scale: Rs. 1,80,000 - 3,40,000 per month (IDA pattern, Schedule 'A' CPSE).
• You will also get DA, perks and allowances as per the rules of NTPC Limited and the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE).

Selection Process

Selection is done by the Public Enterprises Selection Board:

1. Screening of Applications: PESB checks each application against the eligibility rules.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview before the Selection Board.
3. Recommendation: PESB recommends the selected name to the Government for final approval and appointment.
