NIT Warangal, an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, has released a notification for 1 Junior Research Fellow post in the Department of Electrical Engineering. The project is titled "Development of PV-Battery Powered Quasi Z-Source Inverter Fed Five-Phase Interior-Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Drive for Hybrid Electric Vehicle" and is funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Government of India. This is a 3-year research fellowship for candidates interested in power electronics and electric vehicle technology. The selected candidate is also eligible to register for a PhD degree at NIT Warangal — a strong incentive for research-minded engineers. The position is purely temporary and the interview will be conducted in offline mode only.

The project is funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), the apex research funding body set up by the Government of India to boost research and innovation in science and technology. This particular project works on power electronics for hybrid electric vehicles — a fast-growing field in India's clean mobility push — giving you hands-on exposure to inverter and motor drive technology alongside a clear path toward a PhD.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have First Class with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or a CGPA of at least 6.5 on a 10-point scale in both a B.Tech/BE in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and an M.Tech/ME in Power Electronics, Power Electronics and Drives, Electric Vehicle, Electric Transportation, or a closely related field.
• Mandatory: You must also have a GATE qualification.
• Preferred Skills: Experimental knowledge of hardware/control design of power converters, and familiarity with MATLAB, PLECS, PSIM, PCB design software, and DSP/FPGA controllers will strengthen your application.

Age Limit

• You should be up to 30 years old.
• Age Relaxation: As per the norms and guidelines of the institute.

Salary

• You will get a fellowship of Rs. 37,000 per month for the first 2 years and Rs. 42,000 per month in the third year.
• HRA is paid as per institute rules.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam for this post. NIT Warangal will select candidates through:

1. Screening of Applications: The project team may set a higher cut-off for shortlisting based on the number of applications received.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates must attend an interview in offline mode only. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
